A tale of two sides of the street

Trucks are gone and yes more houses in my immediate neighborhood have power but my block nope. There are houses on both sides of the street. If you notice in one its the stop sign at the corner how many times have I taken that picture. As more houses have light than did last night MLGW has been busy, but the "Saturday initial estimate" is almost like a set in stone ultimatum.

Can I hope sure, could prayers help I don't know a single person without power who would turn them back, you never see how vulnerable our electronic worl is until times like this. Then you wonder why weren't we more interested in solar, why haven't we demanded that all power lines be buried not just the new ones. And please don't be the douche who says" but the cost", your rates will be jacked up regardless. Somebody charging you more for the exact same thing, giving you less service, and claiming cost increases is as built into capitalism as it is to complain about profits when you earn a 6 or 7 figure salary even though the company is failing.

Last time I checked if I didn't do my chores right Dad didn't give me my allowance he made me go back and redo it right and THEN he gave me my allowance. Because then I had earned it, and if cut corners and got caught later, I got punished and STILL had to redo it until I got it right. So please rate hikes are going to happen regardless to if the bury everybodies lines. So yeah I know the okie doke, and you throw the punch at the body because while the head is easy to move the body is a much bigger target.

I mean I am glad for the folks who got power back today, and as they kept working til after 8 pm there is hope and a chance that MAYBE tomorrow I will be watching Smallville(fingers crossed). Yeah don't ask me why I am wasting battery lamenting this, but I am. I guess even though I can't interact with my readers and blog followers that this, just able to say whatever is on my mind and post it(raw or not) is comforting to me now. And comfort is at a premium when you have no power and it looks this dark and desolate.

Okay battery light is orange time to go

No Power Day 2

Well first this morning I got an update:power will not be restored until saturday at the earliest. This being thursday of course I'm in an extremely cheerful mood. So that means 2 more days of cold showers MINIMUM, no html updates for my blog(doing them in these phone editors is a big no no), no checking to see how many folks visited, no watching my favorite animes, nor my favorite pornos(or soon to be favorite *wink wink* *nudge nudge*), no easily charging my phones, keeping up with my favorite shows(which I usually catch on the net anyway). I think I'm gonna let a friend start critiqueing my blog. I respect her enough that while im sure the number of "red marks" I get will be vast it will be out of love not grammar naziness.

I know I haven't done the "weight loss journey" blogs like I was supposed to do and now without the lights its hard to keep up with my workouts. If I can't see how can I make sure 1. The band isn't breaking 2. I'm hitting the right angle 3. I have enough room. I may try it anyway tonight two days break is enough. And my diet sucks now can't cook because we have an electric stove, so its all fast food.

Another thing to add to my list of things I need to get: a notepad, a sketchpad, pencils, pens, and either colored pencils or pens. I told a friend I would start drawing and trying to write again and I am going to do that. I must fight my procrastination streak likes its the plague.

What can I say this week and the loss of my access to. Y digital lifestyle is lighting a fire under my behind. There will be a movie blog this week, my boss will be pissed but saturday is gonna have a cut off time. As for my personal life, well its rocky, you want to know ask, simply put I ramble on but personal matters I can just blast for hours so I prefer to make that precision not scattershot.

The Reason for the extended power outage was a power pole snapping and then a tree falling across other lines. Needless to say I could really do a blog the differences between blackberry's and this motorola backflip now battery life is a sore spot right now the Crackberry burns strong, the android not so much. Great features just lousy battery life for now.

That's a future blog though, stone age status has me trying to put it all in my blog in this one shot, and of course I have to publish them all raw, yeah loving that right now. Anyway for those stopping by thanks, for my fellow Memphians still without power I hope MLGW remembers this come bill time(and the lack of national news coverage is annoying)

The morning after

You've seen me post pictures of the surrounding area around my house before. Its a normal neighborhood, just people who live in close proximity to each other going about their daily lives. As happens from time to time rain falls and slightly messes up the scenery. Well last night there was nothing slightly about it

About 10:15 the storm hit, hit hard and fast at first the lights just flickered off momentarily, which has happened before hell in my previous weeks blog(the one where I have all the rain pictures) I told you about the mini blackout that I missed. This time I didn't miss anything first there was the flash of light and then there was the boom the knocked all the lights out. It seems that during the commotion a power pole and powerline were both snapped. A transformer must have blow somewhere too because too many spots have no lights for it to be a single line doing all this damage. I would like to think that in our modern age we don't have all our eggs in one basket like that.

Its kind of funny I had a late night anyway due to a failing hard drive in byhalia and had only been home for a good 20 minutes before the power went out. Now understand I am an admitted digital junky, I have these two phones, I have a desktop, when I surf I tend to have at minimum 5 windows up at all times and said 5 window always have at least 2 tabs open on them. So while yes I do eventually sleep I am the king of digital overload

I had plans to do lots of stuff on facebook, possibly finish up a few blogs, tumblr a few things, watch the latest smallville episode that I missed, watch bleach(latest episode would have been posted this morning) and prepare for a normal workday. Now I'm stuck trying to charge my phones using car charges and watch the daylight vanish to return me to darkness. Which being the gremlin that I am, I love the darkness, I just don't love the quiet, I have become partial to the humms, buzzes, shifting and settling of our digital companions. It used to be the street noises, but I have long since gotten over my dependance on them for a good nights sleep.

At least in this iteration the blackberry bold whoops the motorola backflip when it comes to battery life, at like 75% with me talking on it for hours last night and texting for hours today the blackberry didn't run out of juice for over 12 hours. Sitting there with me just deleting a few items off of it the backflip barely lasted 3. Battery life has always been my issue with this phone, I love the features and the abilities im trying to figure out why its been so glitchy since the firmware update, but for the most part it had always been serviceable save battery life. And never had its lack of battery life been so apparent as it was last night.

I've loaded my android with a handy flashlight app(that came in very handy during the storms aftermath), and it has a little battery life digital indicator on it as it quickly ticked down last night it reminded my how dependant we have become on our digital devices. Mainly because they keep gettint lost I don't have a "normal" flashlight in the sense of that big battery operated single beam of

Well I'll be gosh darned after already being washed back into the stone age what is this I hear above my head? Why its the patter of more ran drops, if anybody says the universe doesn't have a sense of humor I wish to point you to this day. As I have no desktop I will post this "raw" now and adjust the photos and add any html linkage that I feel appropriate when power is restored.

Ol' Primal is still here and plunkin away, I just can't make use of all my toys(at the moment)

Running, running, running

Hello my dear readers I know I still have yet to do the "Hanna" blog it has been a hectic week. I will do it tonight(possibly on this car trip since I'm gonna miss Smallville), I've had to deal with a hack attempt on my computer(which failed mostly, they fried my safe mode I haven't had time to find the registry prompts yet to repair it), had a few late nights, still haven't gotten over my Collergy, but I did find my backflip(it was in the damn front yard).

I've been rained on a few times this week, I've read a few blog entries by others, I have mildly been getting my tumble on. I have gone back to my sporadic Tweeting(and killed my cousins car charger). I am pondering giving Ero his own section of the ponderings, I want to nurture my baby brothers wit and curiosity. He'll just have to obey the rules if he wants to do it. Posting only,(means I'll have to start editing for real) its still my blog he wants to do it, likes it and wants full control he'll have to start his own blog.

The Trailers for Hanna

The Debt

This is a revenge thriller about 3 people who track down some monster german doctor, to make him pay for some past crimes. I've seen this trailer before but this time it was a little cut off so the details are fuzzy to me right now. 2 men and 1 woman are having a flashback moment about some fateful day with the kidnapped the monster to stand trial in the outside world. And something went horribly wrong.

Warrior is the story of two brothers on a collision course in a mixed martial arts tournament. One is a return fighter turned school teacher, bills are piling up and the big score promised for winning this fight will help him bring solvency to his family. The other is a soldier recently returned home from war a hero in need of direction. The relationship between brothers and father was dysfunctional at best and it seems the stars are gonna give them a chance to settle it old school style. Brother against brother, muscle against muscle, wisdom against youth. Kinda feel like this is me and Lank sometimes because we have about that age difference.

This is the story about "Who really wrote of all shakespeares plays and sonnets". An action and suspense filled thriller making you wonder exactly who is the brilliant mind behind all those Characters that some of us loved and some of us hated back in english lit, drama and creative writing. The trailer was kind of chaotic and it looks like a wild ride.

Fast 5

Yup two weeks in a row for the adrenaline rush flick. The street racers are in Brazil going for a 100 million dollar score and the only thing between them and the open road is The ROCK. Fast cars, Hot babes, over the top action yeah this is definitely a Fast movie

And just when I was about to get my" Sesame Street" on

For those of us who grew up with that fond, PBS offering of people interacting with life size puppers(muppets actually I forget where Jim Henson got the name muppet from but we all know what they are) the show always began with the sing song

"Sunny day, sweeping the clouds away, on my way to where the air is sweet, can you tell me how to get, how to get to sesame street"

Well as the pictures show the clouds decided to come back with:friends, ammunition, back up, all

terrain vehicles, extra clips and pets. The skies opened up yesterday and decided "Memphis!! You need an external enema". It went from kinda cloudy, to drizzly, to GREAT FLOOD, to super soaker, to water gun, to dollar store squirt pistol. That rainstorm was so schizophrenic that while it did get my cloth timberland jacket and the bottom of my pants soaked(it seems it also took a few lives and knocked out the power) my day was more inconvenienced by people not answering their phones during the day than I was the water.
Lank(my little brother he's filled out since his younger long and lanky days, but its still one of his nick names) informed me that I missed the mini black out(to which I showed him that picture in traffic where you could barely see the car in front of you), I told him about all the terrified people in Walmart. I'm not claiming to be a "Tornado whisperer" but I've noticed if the rain is coming down hard and heavy your okay. When you just get the sound and the thunder and the rain seems to slow up artificially, worry.

Now this is not to say I was uninconvenienced by the rain, our internet appeared jacked for most of the night. Thus why this blog is being finished today, not last night.

2 years in the making

I am marking the 2 year anniversary, 2nd birthday whatever you would like to officially call it of the ponderings by of course giving it notice on all my various social networking haunts(something I need to start right now). As mention the start of my journey here on Blogspot(when I started here it was called blogspot now it's blogger) was not as a blogger as it was as a reader and a commenter. If you check back on some of my favorite blogger haunts you will notice that I used to fill up a lot of comment space. If I have an opinion I am going to give it in full, damn the torpedoes or somebody else who was afraid to fully express themselves for fear of being ridiculed as a dork, nerd or geek, or that someone may accost them because "they were wrong". Could I be wrong, sure I'm human, are you gonna have to prove it hell to the yeah. At the time I started this blog I already had two, one on Yahoo 360 and one on multiply that I was pounding away on at a rather regular pace(if you dig into the archives you will notice quite a few instances of me mentioning how I abused this blog, much like you will see now on wordpress though honestly wordpress is getting a lot more love then blogger did in the beginning). Now yes Yahoo 360 is gone and while multiply still exists I really haven't posted on there in any capacity in months(I may again, just hmm I've been busting my behind here, somewhat), I had blogged a few times on myspace haven't been there in ever, black planet either. So as far as active blogs are concerned you have here and you have Wordpress.

When I started this blog I made one firm rule:No cursing. Which to any who know me and who stumble upon this blog going forward will appear to be an impossibility "Primal not curse, please he enjoys those foul invectives too much to write a post without peppering a few in here or there", so yeah the fact that I have over 200 posts with nary a cuss word(I have allowed a few in here and there) will be shocking. I also said that as is my nature to be random and in the shadows so will be my blog, if you find it so be it, but there will not be a lot of "hey I'm primal come to my blogging" going on. 2 reasons most peoples blogs I find, I find by accident I see them somewhere else and explore, I like to find out more. And if a subject interests me I comment, I kind of want to meet more people like myself. Now I may not be overflowing with visitors(especially if you go by my google analytics stats) but I have had quiet a few onlookers. Second especially in the beginning as I wasn't posting with any amount of regularity I didn't want to create some type of  "eye grabbing campaign" which would force me to artificially create content just so that I had an excuse to draw people to my blog. If you came then you came by way of the ether, as many of my great childhood adventures did by simple chance, my friend Joy of Almond Joy's Sweetness as well as Let this BE a warning (a play on one of her internet nom de plumes of Butterfly Effect, go by and give her a hug for me) did give me a shout out once on her facebook page and I want to thank her for that, got quite a few hits that week.

Also of my 468(as of this writing trust me it will increase going forward, actually as I have been going through still reading others blogs while typing this up I should just say as of this moment 8:28 pm on April 3rd 2011) Disqus comments(and the inspiration for me adding it to my blog) the lions share are on my cyber brother Rippa's blog The Intersection| Madness & Reality from every topic including politics, music, and my love of the Bootay. To tell you how lousy a cyber brother I am Rippa and I live in the exact same city, hell 2 years ago we probably lived within 15 minutes of each other, and me Mr. busy and lazy has never met him face to face(Yes I R the suck, I admit it). Rippa recently had surgery so if you have a thick enough skin drop by say hello and possibly join in on the conversations(rippa has at least 6 other blog authors as well as allows people to submit posts for his blog, no I myself have NEVER done a post for his blog I just read and respond to that which tickles my fancy). Oh word of warning Rippa sometimes uses some wild pictures along with the blog posts to catch you off guard, if you can keep your wits about you I recommend definitely adding him to your reading list. One of the best black bloggers in the game.

Through my blogging travels I have met many different people some of them shinig stars(or shining stars in the making) others normal eclectic folks like myself, some average everyday people who you would think "why would they interact with him". As the world wide web was young when I left jersey I have met quite a few folks who I was already sharing time zones, stomping grounds and area codes with folks like @kinkycourtesan of and The Trippie Hippie a fellow jersey alumn, @yagyrlr of yagyrlr this harlemite drags me to every new social networking iteration there is I may not stay but I can't say I haven't heard of it, Keys of Passion's Fruit and Thee~~Kween's~Kaleidescope could probably tell you how annoying and long winded I could be. There are many more and I'm just going to link to my various friends lists(and you can also check my blog roll to see who I read) many of them I don't always see eye to eye with, doesn't make either of us bad people it just makes us intelligent folks who understand that not seeing eye to eye on a matter doesn't make the other person evil, just the owner of their own opinion. And while my amount of commenting may have tapered off as of late(and quite a bit of my reading) many of these folks have done all you can ask a blogger to do, open my eyes to a different perspective on this wonderful world we share. I have also found some awesome tweeters and bloggers who cover sci-fi and the realm of comics like @thinkhero of the also named Think Hero blog and youtube page and @geektyrant and GT on various occasions I have mention both, so obviously I like their work.

In the 2 Years I have been operating this blog I have gone from having no clue what I was gonna blog about, to offering philosophical laments about maleness, to talking about some of my favorite sports teams, to discussing video games, comic books, sci fi, and movies. To date I believe my most read post here on the ponderings is my review of "The warriors way", whether it is the way I titled the review(I don't always come up with snappy titles, as in the case of "Warriors Way" it was the opening line) or the fact that people had heard about it missed it in theaters and were wondering if it was worth a rental or purchase(yes, yes a million times yes) I don't know but save now a few views on the "Sucker punch" review(I'm gonna need to start recording links for my damn posts or else remembering exactly what I titled them for the purpose of relinking them cause yeesh). I have gone from posting maybe 1 a month or every other month to several times a day(during the last quarter of  2010), to now posting a few times a week. My post count my improve I mean already I have almost surpassed 2009 in posts again, and for the most part until October 2010 was well behind my current pace and this summer block buster season there are a lot of movies I want to see. Yes even Captain America, as a person who has been alive these last 36 years I have seen all the pained attempts at bringing captain america to life. I have seen the sad Beach Ball shield, I have seen the well intentioned, completely to the comic book but cheesy looking attempt in the 90's(Somehow no matter how hard they tried it just didn't come off on the screen as well as we had all hoped, and I paid to go see it) and as much as I have voiced my fears I plan to go see Chris Evans' attempt now that they have jettisoned him from the role of the human torch(why I have no idea he so nailed that part it was like, "what more do you want? Him to actually spout his own flames"). The 21st century has brought us comic and sci fi fans so much joy that many times we don't know how to act, even the less popular low budget offerings that we are getting at the box office are coming through with such stunning visuals that its like "yes, maybe my favorite non main stream comic has a chance". We may not all agree on some of the movies that come out, but the arguments are less based on how "Low budget" the look and more along the lines of if we liked the casting, or the accents of the portraying actors(and honestly when you start complaining about a characters accent as a main focus for it sucking, that means you nailed pretty much everything else).

Now this is not to say EVERYTHING has been golden we have still gotten a few flops, a few times when people have told us all "Damn continuity, the story or the source material, I'm gonna do what I want and make some style piece". It will happen, but now it happens less often and we have so many nice surprises. Animation has also come a long way and has given those of us who grew up with it as a steady companion some adult guilty pleasures to plunk down 8+ bucks for.

I've also made VAGUE mention to my personal life, I think I failed to mention last week that I had canceled my vacation to see my wife for her birthday, things happen the best laid plans of mice and men and all. From time to time I have posted pictures, one of these days I will post a video(probably after I add a new HD to this computer or else buy a new passport drive upon which to save said video or both), have never done a podcast so that would also be a new something I would have to look into. In the last two years I have severely changed my diet, I eat fast food a lot less, especially fried foods(I'm still in lust with french fries so when I creep on my healthier eating habits you know french fries are involved), grease has become the enemy. Or at least is being treated as it right now, of course as a kid from the north east there are probably *Screeching tires* right now. I know I used to eat pizza damn nearly daily, cheese steaks too(especially since living in jersey there were spots to get both within a 5-15 minute walk, ahhh the good old days), I cut down on my indulgence of sweets as well, I'm still a chocoholic I just have better control over it.

Now in this past 2 years there are still a few things I am shall we say deficient in, I haven't gotten into any of the millions stories that have been bouncing around my head since high school, I have yet to buy myself a new notepad or sketch book and begin writing silly limerics, short stories, or even sketching oddly shaped figures. I'm afraid to think what my first sketch will look like, it's been so long and I used to have soo many characters I used to do. Like any other jr to high schooler I had sketched comic book covers(got pretty damn good at it too), a few comic panels, had drawn scenes, as a north east kid had even invented my own stylized graphiti.Maybe one of these days I'll sketch a few of my old logos, scan them in turn them into a gift and use them as the Logo for my blog. Though it's been at least 18 years since I did either one so they won't look right and I'm going to be pissed, I already know it. But since I know it it gives me more reason to go ahead and if nothing else get those right. I may be able to draw nothing but my old Logo, but I want to get that right. Probably need to pick up a few drawing books just to give myself a refresher course, I haven't picked up pencil or pen in that capacity in years. Maybe try to do some coloring on them as well, but drawing first.

Oh well thats going into the future. For those who have read, and are coming back and reading some more I say thank you. This day has been 2 years in the making(of which I have been paying absolutely no attention) and I hope that I keep doing this for another 365 days at least, if not longer.

The power of YOU

It's a rainy night in some dark, desolate looking locale, floating on the breeze is a song "sweet dreams are made of these" in a slow almost pained moan. We are taken into a room two younger girls, one blonde one raven haired sit clutching each other as a man comes in and shakes his head. The blonde runs into a bedroom to pull the cover off the now departed soul, a female and she looks a a tall balding chubby male who seems to be cheerful at the passing of this woman.

"Sucker Punch"

Well what do you know

Primal's Ponderings is about to celebrate it's second birthday *bradadadaaaaaaaa*, I just so happened to check a few moments ago in a moment of fancy to see "hmm I wonder how long I really had been doing this blog right here" and what do you know the first post ever written was on 4/4/09. Which just happens to be monday, now for the record I think Ponderings was my 4th or 5th blog. I had the one on yahoo 360, then I had the one on myspace, then I had the one onnnnnnn black planet, then I had the one on multiply, then I think I started this one, a few more also started after this but as you notice this one has being going strongest in place of the yahoo 360 blog. Which is odd considering how much I swore on 360.

But Yaaaay, I can actually attempt to celebrate a blogs birthday for once. Maybe I should actually claim it for the week on all of my various social networking sites saying "primal's ponderings 2 years old today" leave it up for a week and then delete it. Yeah thats what I will do, I will claim it and then delete the post next monday, you see it you see it, you don't oh well.

Again you looking for old primal just google primaldata(ahem adding my name in another post will of course allow it to be googled for primaldata BRILLIANT) and you will find me somewhere doing what it is I do best, rambling on lol.

So Happy birthday to my blog, hopefully many more posts to come

The Trailers for "Sucker Punch"

Conan the Barbarian

This was my first viewing for the Conan the Barbarian movie that has been the subject of much debate at as a matter of fact one of the to 3 articles about conan the barbarian on IMDB talking about the upcoming movie points to an article on so they must be getting a lot of eyes on the subject. It can't be a good thing that I am talking more about Geek Tyrant than I am about Conan, well the trailer was this "smokey" mess where you barely saw anything. You saw the Conan name some beastly looking things but really not alot of detail to sink your teeth into. This movie is starting to move further down my viewing chart.  I don't know if you have had folks panning you for MONTHS now and instead of wowing them with the greatness that is your movie you kind of hide behind smoke and shadow, meh that doesn't inspire confidence. Even green lantern with the CGI suit that many seemed to hate showed you the suit in full clear view so you could either love it or hate it but here we are.

So gig for Conan, face your detractors don't hide in the smoke and Mist

Fast 5

Now before you think this is some "flash corps" movie no this is the 5th installment of the fast and the furious. And everybody is together, Paul walker, Vin Diesel, Tyreese, Ludacris, and they have added the huge guns of  Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The movie looks awesome THOUGH you could gig them for Han being in it even though he died two movies ago(in fast and the furious tokyo drift) I mean if we are just bringing people to life why is Michele Rodriguez still dead hmm? The heist 100 million dollars out of a government installation. There will be cops, guns, police chases and to these guys "where's the problem". I mean this is an adrenaline junkies paradise from the looks of it, if you thought fast movies were over the top before whew they don't care about the potential "Jump the shark" factor in some of the premises of this movie. They are gonna take their fast cars, their insane modifications point them at your sense of "oh thats just to far" and leave it in the dust. Ol' Conan up there should take a lesson, doesn't matter what people say about you before they see you, what matters is that you take their breath away first chance you get.

X-men:First Class

*Disclaimer* I am a Marvellite, I have been a marvel fan for YEARS so forgive any UNSEEMLY amount of drooling over this picture.

Okay now that thats out the way !!Magneto rips a FREAKIN NUCLEAR SUB OUT OF THE WATER!! it's in the trailer, whether I like the "line up" of the first class or not you show exactly how big the Mutant Power Penis of one of the most powerful mutants around is exactly how much grousing can I do. It also seems to have removed itself from the "time stream" of the wolverine movie, as I believe that is Emma Frost diamonding up in the chair in the trailer for first class and she can't be a full grown woman back in the 60's and a kid in the 80's sorry just won't work. You will see Beast get his blue fur, you will see a young? Mystique(point of little known marvel fact, everytime Mystique shifts form it is almost like she is hitting the life "reset" button, because since her body changes age to that of whoever she is imitating{unless they have since recanted this}if she constantly goes back to whatever age she remembers herself being, well she would then be that age. So if she "remembers" being a hot looking 28 year old woman, she's 28 until they kill her off), Charles has his legs in this movies dunno if we will see magnus take them, Magnus gets his helmet(ahem charles continued use of his legs ain looking too go here folks), a full grown woman with Insect wings(I wondered if this was a POSSIBLE Wasp sighting, because wasp the avenger is actually a mutant as well).

I can geek about this movie forever so let me stop, my "Line up" issue is of course the first line up in the X-men comics was: Cyclops, Beast, Angel, Marvel Girl, and Iceman there have been many additions to the team over the years but to be honest that would be the first class at Xavier's Institute for Gifted Children.

The Hangover part 2

This was a trailer in the minimalist sense of the word. It shows the 3 main characters from the last movie(and a monkey, looks like Ben Stillers from the night at the museum movies) waking up in a weird room, walking down the street and making a few comments to each other. The Dental surgeon now sports a Tyson face tattoo and Rain man has been shaved. And now they have a monkey, I guess you really can't beat having a Tiger in a car with you in the first movie, That is really kind of untoppable. The site has a different trailer but basically you know those 3 wake up in a room after a wild night, it really was a wild night. I may go see this one in theaters.

In the 1980's we americans were all introduced to Dudley Moore this British accented actor stole our hearts as this Drunken English GROWN spoiled rich brat to say this movie was funny is an understatement. As a matter of fact the movie was so funny there are quite a few homages to Moore's Arthur on many of todays more adult cartoon shows and in a few comedy acts. So when I heard they were remaking the movie as a fan of the original and not thinking anybody could match Dudley Moore I pretty much completely hated the idea and was like "it will suck, and they should burn in hell"(what there are days when my mouth runs before my brain can edit). Well now I have seen the trailer for Arthur, I slightly rescind my earlier statement Russel Brand MIGHT be able to pull it off. When I saw the poster for it, I was like Arthur? Wtf because just seeing him sitting there in a silly throne didn't spark any memories. But the trailer, the second I heard his name called and heard him speak in character the entire movie flew back in my head, and I smiled.

So Drunken English Fop, who is outrageously rich and has not done a THING in his life(and is extremely proud of it) but spend money, is given an ultimatum by his aging mother. He must marry some high society woman or else she will cut him off for every last dime. 950 million dollars(don't remember how much he was losing in the original movie but I'm sure they've upped the anti since you know a million isn't what it used to be) gone, poof , no more you will be a pauper. No more Boxing lessons with Evander Holyfield, no more music lessons with Yeezy(yes Kanye West), nothing not a dime. Arthur threatens to get a job(to which his mother rightfully laughs) and in the ensuing hijinx he bumps into a tour guide in Grand Central station and falls madly in love. Of course mom doesn't approve thus the story does he give it all up for his common love as well as his attempts to work in the real world(you ever wonder where Will Ferrel got it from in Elf it was Dudley Moore) or do what his mother says and marry miss high society and keep the almost 1 billion dollars(?) (Dollars? He's british shouldn't it be pounds? Maybe I miss heard still a 50 butt loads of dough).

Yup 5 trailers this week I got lucky(then again the trailer for Conan wasn't really a trailer yeah yeah they spoke but you couldn't really see nothing) Linkage is in and ready for your perusal say what your interested in seeing(even chastise me for being so hard on some of these movies or so soft), say what you think is going to be a flop, say why didn't I include the link to Lantern's new trailer instead of the lousy conan trailer. I don't mind the summer movie season is about to start and looks like it MIGHT be fun.
