Throwback Thursday(Non Traditional)

Since I have actually been writing quite a bit lately I don't have as many posts sitting in draft here or on Wordpress as I used to. So I decided to grab an old post from here for there and I guess I can grab one from there for here. I just gotta decide which one. The issue is of course THE CURSING, oh I let loose over there, it's my vent blog or should I say my FULL VENT blog I vent over here I just don't let it all loose like I do over there. So anyway since this blog tends to be PG-13 I will endeavor to:

  1. Warn you if the Content is above PG-13
  2. Make sure that I keep the Clip of the title I choose PG-13
  3. Pick a post that is hopefully worthy of the trip to vulgar land
  4. Give you a non vulgar synopsis over here
I have chosen the post, in my current state of employ we used to do a lot more work on computers and laptops. I am pretty sure this experience is similar for anyone who works on peoples personal devices and is most likely everyone's worst fear to find(to quote NPH) someone else's love juices on the device they ask you to repair. Oh yes, it's true I can't remember who gave me this piece of defiled electronics but I know for a full 6 months I was just like ugh. I ain even want to shake their hand no more, cause I don't care what you say you could have at least wiped off the screen.

THROWBACK THURSDAY-My theory on job creation(6/2/10)

This is what I think would help I keep talking about it I have posted it in various peices around the net but never in one full front to back easily reference able part. Why post it here, simply put the rules on this blog pretty much force me to remain serious as well as use more responsible language(IE not cursing)

The PrimalData American Manufacturing revitalization plan:

Any "American" corporation with less then 95% of their total labor force in the united states of america is stripped of any and all tax considerations given to "American" businesses. If the corporation imports products into the united states of America from a foreign port to sell in the united states they are subject to normal duties and taxes as well as a 25% penalty on those products.

reason:them building these items in a foreign country is costing american citizens jobs in hopes off padding their pockets and thus profits. So if you are going to negatively affect the citizens here you are going to pay for it.

〷〷〷〷〷〷〷〷〷〷〷〷〷〷〷〷

meh, I may redo this one day. I think I started this on a slow day while watching MSNBC or something. And yes I have often talked about this with various people who:
  • Probably haven't had a job in a while
  • Don't understand HOW our tax and tariff system works
  • Really don't care about creating jobs, they just want to be contrarian
  • Haven't researched ANYTHING that they are saying, if it sounds good SCREAM IT
I don't mind a good debate, the problem is half the time on the internet you can't find one. The people who "pretend" to take the other side aren't actually taking a side, they are just trying to start some kind of conflict. Lots of name calling, some cursing, some complaining to an imaginary ref, a lot of conspiracy theories they try to pass off as fact or research, and a general lack of understanding of anything other than what they WANT to be true. It used to be more fun but they are so easily manipulated that you kind of realize it isn't so much skill on your part as it is incompetence on theirs

Please pick one:a dictionary, Thesaurus and YOU(Dec of 2011)

Yo some of yall need to stop abusing language. Every word is not a catch all:
Desperation is not the same as thirst, on top of that THIRST is not a bad thing. Thirst is a warning that lets your body know it needs to hydrate. Desperation is an act when you FEEL you are at the end of your rope, are about to run out of opportunities or about to miss the greatest. And somebody who is a better wordsmith when they compose their compliments or someone getting more compliments than you is neither THIRSTY nor DESPERATE. Posting a pic when you are feeling yourself is not thirst trapping. And some of this language abuse is so transparent, so much a dance of banner waving, soap box transference and attention whoring

Wild and wacky day(1/27/11)

I began my day with an early service call and a customers site where basically it appeared that his computer had died, I take that back it wasn't appeared the computer refused to boot up at all, it ignored his hard drive, his cd rom drive any attempt to use that PC was met with a system reboot. I removed the cover, and the extra airflow allowed me to boot to the CD-rom but not boot to the hard drive, so I did a visual inspection saw some bulging capacitors and gave the customer the bad news. I tried to reboot it again in front of him no dice.

Now like many of my customers this man was a muslim(he says devout, I'm just restating what he said I'm not judging the depth of his faith), he pulled out his prayer beads, told me that with the current economy he could not afford a new system, or even a refurbished one, and that if there was anything that could get him an extra 2 months of this system working he would gladly spend the money it took to get a new system in 2-3 months.  He had said that before with empty hands, but now that he said it(as well as a vow to his deity) with the prayer beads in his hands I rebooted it one more time because he asked me to, I even removed my boot disk as not to stress the system any, and

We saw the welcome screen(had seen that before and it crashed and rebooted)
He walked away
I saw his desktop and heard the windows chime
I saw his camera system come up
And I saw it start recording like it hadn't just ignored 35 minutes of me attempting everything I knew to get it to work.

So when he walks back in the door I tell him he has the luck of the irish, and that in 2 months he better buy a new computer. I don't believe in coincidence, he asked the universe for 2 more months to be able to gather up the funds he needed for a new system, with the beads of his faith in his hands. His system started working, I don't know about you, but thats a deal I'm not going to try and renegotiate. I collected my fee, freed him up some hard drive space, told him DO NOT MESS WITH IT(I'm just saying when you go from total devastation to "OMG it's working" don't tempt fate) and suggested on St. Patty's day he get a green milk shake(he's muslim I don't know how valid the line was but in 13th warrior Antonio Banderas said "no fermentation of fruit or grain shall touch my lips" and he was playing a muslim, so the green beer was out) and I walked out the door.

I get to my next site a similar situation, dudes system is dead I move his card over, I get it working in a new computer there are some issues with a few cameras being out, and if we touch the cable or the external hard drive it shuts off. So I give them the same don't touch it warning, or the option to buy a new drive(internal or external) which is going to cost roughly 200 for a 2 TB drive. Time to collect waiting around for dude who is going to pay me, can get my Boss(my father) on the phone pretty much the whole time, finally somebody who is authorized to have the cash doled out to me shows up, I give him a slight discount, he asks for a deeper discount(cash in hand is better than me standing around, and it was close enough to my don't take any less price I am always given so I was about to accept it), money is in the guys hand, it's counted out, and right before it gets handed to me, my Dad calls so I hand the phone off and the guy doubles his discount by talking to the boss. I laugh my behind off because at any other time I'd have to wait 20 30 minutes for my Dad to call me, and this time he calls and costs himself money. We both chuckle and I head off to my next stop.

This one is just a courier run, I pick up a monitor, talk to my cousins girlfriend's cousin, and drop the monitor off on the other side of town. I talk to a good friend on the phone for a few minutes, because it seems insanity is running rampant on social networking sites, and I head of to a customer who is having a network issue. Well I don't DIRECTLY head off I stop at subway for a footlong oven roasted chicken(what it's been a while since I had one and I was hungry) I pump my old school funk/soul music while I eat in my car, finish off my cookies and drive off to the customers site. Okay somehow his computer has crashed again and he has reloaded it. Thats fine, he even reloaded the camera software(looks like he loaded the wrong camera software the first time but I digress) but for some odd strange reason he can't get the internet to work. Hey I don't mind hard times you do what you gotta do, but somehow it seems it's more than just the software that was reloaded, because I try to change some settings in his router because they are off. Oh well I fight with it for about 45 minutes to an hour decide that I have somewhere else to be and make arrangements to either return later on tonight(as I am typing this now from the house that ain happen) or come back tomorrow at 2.

Pick up my uncle(since I was using his car), meet my coworker to get our other vehicle, ride back to the house and here I sit laughing about a weird day gone by.  My take

⧫⧫⧫⧫⧫⧫⧫⧫⧫⧫⧫⧫⧫⧫⧫

This post probably got lost to whatever the rest of that day entailed. Even as I'm reading it back I'm lmao, because now I wonder, "damn did he hit us up in 3 months for that new system?" Life imitates art, which imitates life, which is as random as it can be on both sides and this day was proof of that. Life has some many ups and downs and weird turns, I wish I had finished this post out that day I can't remember how it ended almost 6 years ago now(crazy huh, that's why I like putting the dates on these maybe it was forever ago maybe it was just a few short months. Most likely though they were interesting to me at least interesting enough for me to start writing about them...

Does X-men:Apocalypse spell the end for X-men movies for Singer(throwback from 8/10/16)

It's been 3 weeks, and while people love to blame underperforming comic book movies on Super Hero fatigue I think if we are honest we know it isn't fatigue it's crappy movies. When you make a crappy movie, it doesn't perform.

Deadpool a fan favorite, niche, parody of another comic book character pretty much quadrupled it's production budget.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice a mash up of quite a few Fan favorite stories, that had a ROCKY delivery(if I am being generous) barely made it's money back and is seen as a flop domestically.

Captain America: Civil War has already surpassed BOTH Deadpool(the runaway success) and Batman v Superman(a movie that was pushed up a WHOLE MONTH so they didn't have to directly compete) by crossing the 400 million mark. Deadpool fell just short at like 373 million, Batman v Superman needs a hail mary to even get close before they drop the DVD in 2 months at 336 million.

So what about X-men:Apocalypse, it is coming up on the one month mark, how much has it made 146 million. All 3 movies previously mentioned had crossed the 200 million threshold within 2 weeks. Come this Friday it will have been 4 weeks since Apocalypse was released. I already gave my opinion of this movie, it's the Distinguished mutant. The names you know without the cohesiveness you love, this movie is a shell of itself and what it should have been. Hell Days of Future Past got way closer to the mark and was a hit, and was one of the reasons so many people were hyped for Apocalypse. The problem is most of the initial media released for the movie started to douse said hype, we appreciate the costumes but we also need the powers.

It's here, it's here(5/4/11)

Summer movie season has finally arrived(though Fast Five, review to come later, has already jumped out to a first weekend box office hit) and this weekend I'll be damned if the best comic company in the world(Marvel Comics, I'm a Marvel Maniac admitted it a million times DC homers suck it)  doesn't have the first official offering of the season.

Now yes I know summer doesn't start for a few more months but basically May is when kids start to get out of school, so from May til September Studios put out there(HOPEFULLY) creme de la creme, the best they have to offer in hopes of sucking up date, allowance and chore money from teens and young adults with plenty of spare time on their hands. I mean yes they love holidays, but a holiday weekend might give you 3 or 4 days with kids with free time, summer that's everyday. Friday's offering is Thor, one of Marvel's big characters yes I know he is from Viking Mythology but The Mighty Thor has been running since before I was born, and we all know the name of his mighty hammer Mjolnir(but not how to properly say it until much much later) because of Marvel. I'm hoping this is a big summer not only are new characters gracing the silver screen for everybody(marvel is sending forth Thor and Captain America, DC is putting the Green Lantern on patrol) we're also seeing directors use some of that good will they got by making previous blockbusters to bring pet projects to life(Jon Favreau's Cowboys and Aliens). Of course the end of the Harry Potter series of movies is coming this summer, another Transformers, the guys from the Hangover are coming back, as well as a certain fuzzy panda, Pixar even has a new cars on deck(Screw cars where's the Incredibles 2 I wanna see Jack Jack kick butt) in other words if you have a DIME in your pocket the movie theater is out to get your butt in their comfy stadium seats.

I really am going to try to get to the movies every week this summer to catch all the new offerings. Thor looks good(even if we made fun of how the costumes looked at first), Captain America looks like it could be good but as I'm in my 30's forgive my skepticism Steve but I've had to grab the hurl bucket many a time for what they put out with you name on it. Transformers I am going to watch even if at the end of the released trailer it looks like they just let Prime be evil. How you kicking but all trailer long and in the last 8 seconds you get decimated, just a red and blue flash of decepticon butt kickery. Of course Cowboys & Aliens is on my list I get James Bond and Indiana Jones in the same movie, it's a 90's wett dream come true I mean no it's not Sean Connery but Daniel Craig has done a good job as 007 and well Harrison Ford is Harrison Ford. There are a couple of not so well known projects that I am thinking of seeing too Lank wants to see Real Steel

This one definitely needed a little editing, but as we are almost to summer movie season again and the movies mentioned here have risen or fallen, I figure why not. By the time this posts I will have seen Batman v Superman, Civil War will be on it's way, and oh yeah DEADPOOL was already awesome. I swear if I could have only told me then that this day was coming. That Barrakapool would not be the end of our favorite Merc, that Ryan Reynolds would rise from the ashes of a failed Green Lantern movie to create Super hero movie GOLD.

And just when it looks like a dull and dreary day(11/29/10)Throwback Thursday

The sky opens up and says "whatcha got for me". And it was an off and on rain, one of those "I've stopped whoops nope caught you out in the middle of the street with no umbrella" type showers that get you sick.

I got wrapped up in work so I really couldn't do this blog like I wanted to earlier. It was just one of those days, starts out slow and I'm not doing anything ends in a rush. We're just leaving the smoke shop now, so its a late night for me, no I'm not fond of late nights because I still get stuck with early mornings. Blows Donkey balls, but hey I'm grown I gotta do what I gotta do.

Still a wet night luckily its monday not friday not in a movie mood so I won't get soaked. I can take the caddy to wally word later for wifey so that her playonline is okay. I want to get into Final Fantasy XIV but I'd need a new PC. Desktop laptop don't matter, either way I want something THIS generation PC wise. Call me a gaming snob, but why be on the sucky computer if you don't have to be?

But that's something far off, I know I started rambling but hey I said from the start I'm rambly. So its not like I didn't warn you, and from my bounce rate I see many of you have decided to jump off quickly, whoops this guy is a loon let me get up out of here. (I mean some of yall bug out in less than 10 seconds that's a miracle, I never leave without reading a page or two unless its a gay/femdom porn site then its "aw hell naw" *click*)

For those who have stay around and enjoy my craziness thank you from the bottom of my heart 700 hits last month and damn near 2000 over. Google analytics may not count all of you but if you are here you are welcome(until you piss me off)
Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile
Holy Crap!, that says sent via BlackBerry. No seriously a BLACKBERRY. I remember when me and Blackberry's were inseperable, Hell I still have two sitting here from way way back. I buy a new phone every two years, why?  Because I really don't see the need for a new one every year, they really don't change that much in a year. The camera isn't that much better, the internal hard drive isn't that much bigger, the processor is barely any faster, and now that everybody has agreed on the perfect screen size that ain even much bigger anymore. I am currently team Samsung, and whenever the note 6 drops that will be my new phone, it will be my 5th Samsung phone(my work phones are also Samsung before somebody starts doing the math and going "Hey!!!!!!"). But wow yeah I wrote this on a Blackberry, this definitely screams throwback

Week 1 is fast approaching(9/9/11)

I'm scanning injury reports, I'm constantly on the Eagles website trying to catch the next little tidbit of news, video, commentary. To say that I have a jones is an understatement I have loved football for the entirety of my life, and since I first learned how to sit up straight have watched the Philadelphia Eagles play football. Unlike others I had no doubts that we would have football this season too much money in it and unlike basketball, where people have become tired of all the sideshow antics both on the court and in the owners box, there is too much outside pressure from people in states who take their football seriously. If Roger Goodell let this lockout remain on too long I guarantee you there were a few states that he would have been persona non grata in most of the states who have pro football have a deep passion for it. Regardless to if you have a Lombardi trophy sitting in the case or not we go out in 0 degree or lower weather, rain, sleet, hail if you don't cancel the game(and if you do we will have some choice words for you) we will be there.

I know that my teams Offensive line is in flux, I won't lie and say it doesn't worry me than again speed kills and all we have is speed on the offensive side of the ball. I am waiting for a big announcement that Djax has gotten a new contract, I know we had better sign him and soon. I understand that football is a business but personally while we lost the older loudmouth wide receiver to Jerry Jones and his Blue Star we damn sure better not use the young, electrifying one. I will spare my giant fan readers the video(no it isn't saved on my desktop yes I have watched it a few times on youtube), but Desean Jackson in the open field is a coaches worst nightmare I watched some highlights of him in college, because I was bored and there are no 2011 highlights yet, and to see that he's always done that to DB's and punt teams is just wow. Yes I am still chomping at the bit to see Dion Lewis in a game situation, the kid just tears up the field and looks so illusive. I heard that Jeremy Maclin is going full speed and that possibly Steve Smith will play too, I will not lie and say that Jason Avant is another speedster but hey sometimes you just need a possession receiver and he's it.

In an editing mood (5/26/11)

If you happen to see my networked blog stream pick up a lot today, or you go back to some of your favorite posts and notice that maybe they look a little cleaner, or spelling errors have been fixed(in the article or the comments) thats because I am going through and editing WAAAAY after the fact. I don't know if it's just me or everybody hates going back and trying to figure out what and how bad they screwed something up that felt so good in the moment but here I go anyway. As it's 6pm central I don't know if I will make it to the movies tonight I guess it depends on how long editing takes me, and if I feel like walking again.

I don't know how far I am going to go back, I don't know if I'm glutton for punishment enough to go back to the first post I ever made, then again it might be nice to see if I can spot the plethora of spelling mistakes I know I would have made, as well as the many run on paragraphs, bad prose, words I invented(yes I know I am quite belligerent about adding words to the English language), and Jason Voorheesed any time of continuity or flow. I don't mention this being the randomosity train for nothing, I do ramble, stumble, double back and go in completely a different direction a lot. It's what I get for not using outlines and just allowing myself to go along whatever path the idea takes me along, some may say thats a good way to at least get writing

????????????????????????

I still don't know how far I went back that day. I see a few more posts that I need to go back and edit later. Still cleaning up my drafts folder, don't know if I will release everything in there, don't know if I will stop adding to it(which is kind of hard since sometimes you have an idea and then you lose it). Supposedly the updated the blogger app so I may start using that again when I don't want to pull out the laptop(we shall see)

The Trailers for Kung Fu Panda 2 (5/28/11)

As this is Memorial Day weekend and the movie industry is trying to get more bang for it's buck there are two releases this weekend, this is my first movie of the weekend(and since Lank has a habit of flaking I will probably do the review for KFP2 tonight and walk to The Hangover 2 tomorrow) I missed most of the first trailer but meh, it wasn't really a movie I want to see anyway. Looks like because this was an animated movie they decided to do all the "kiddie/family" trailers on it oh well, you go see an animated movie you take that risk, well away we go to the trailers from Kung Fu Panda 2:the search for more Kung Fu AWESOMENESS

Judy Moody and the not Bummer Summer

A movie along the lines of Superfudge(and something else that slips my eclectic memory, I swear when this wave crescendos in I'm gonna be pissed) young precocious kid, annoying sibling, wacky hijinx either during the school year or during the summer. It seems Judy's parents are going on some trip out of town and Judy has this "summer of thrills" things planned with the other girls in her school. Problem is she's been stuck with Stink(her little brother, I don't know what it is with giving younger siblings messed up nick names, stops talking before I incriminate myself) and has very few "Thrill coins" stocked up so she is waaay behind. Enter Aunt Opal, untamed curls, somewhat distant ding batty look to her eyes and the fun begins. Yes when I was younger movies like this would have appealed to me my sense of wanting to escape from the apartment and go out and explore the world, but now I'm good this is too kiddie even for a walk down memory lane.

*The Adventures of * Tin Tin

The loveable English children's character with the little white Scottish Terrier is back, I mean I know he got an HBO children's series a while back and you know while his action, adventure, mystery, and suspense them is right up my alley, meh never got into Tin Tin. Hell I knew exactly what the movie was about half way through the trailer and somehow mentally tuned it out. Tin Tin is on some adventure, to find some thing, over seas, air, dessert(why is he always crossing a damn dessert) and running through this city and that, hiding in back alleys, eavesdropping on shady people. If you are a Tin Tin fan and feel I am giving him a bad rap, I freely open up the comments for you to state his case, and it has nothing to do with him being British. I love C.S. Lewis characters, Robin Hood, King Arthur, as well as the Harry Potter books, and The Chronicles of Prydain series.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

Another one of my trailer blogs, I know a new Kung fu Panda movie came out I just wasn't feeling it. I didn't see the first one in theaters, I did go watch the second one, it was kind of fun. The third one though meh. Who knows maybe I will regret not seeing it in theaters, but it was two weeks before Deadpool and that was my focus. This year is about to be the Battle of the Titans. DC and Marvel have multiple movies coming out this year, Technically Marvel has 3 coming out because Fox released Deadpool, but there are two Marvel proper movies Captain America:Civil War and Doctor Strange vs two DC movies Batman v Superman:Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad.

Hilariously the only group putting pressure on Marvel is Marvel, I mean with who knows how many Billion dollar or just under Billion Dollar movies under its belt the House that Prints Money(formerly the house that Stan built) only has to keep up the good work, and Civil War seems to be another hit in the making. Nothing but a few stills and Cumberbatch in the suit for Doc Strange though, which is kind of smart. Why fight with Deadpool and Civil War it would get buried. As for Suicide Squad it may turn out to be a runaway hit like Guardians of the Galaxy, but B v S Dawn of Justice is in a tough spot, it is DC's answer to the runaway hit that is the Avengers movies, no pressure right. Marvel just had a two year 6 movie head start(and no I don't count Nolan's Batman movies because what do you know that ain Bale and that ain Bale's world). I'm going to watch it when it comes out in a few weeks and while I hope it is good, everything in my heart screams raggedy mess.

While DC isn't Marvel, a rushed story is a rushed story, and as I said in my EWwGL post rushing things rarely turns out well. To introduce 4 new characters (RIGHT) would take like 3 1/2 hours. Especially characters of this magnitude, Wonder Woman? Batman? Flash? Aquaman? These guys are the pillars of DC's comic empire(I said COMIC not MOVIE), most times that you see an animated representation of DC's wares 2 or more of those characters are involved. The only time Aquaman did not play a huge part in a major DC cartoon was Justice League, and that had Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawk Girl, and Martian Manhunter. And when that show went unlimited(Justice League Unlimited that is) guess who's scaly butt showed up, that's right Aquaman.

Anyway enough this is a throwback post so I hope you guys get a laugh out of it

COD:Black ops Laced up, Locked and Loaded(11/17/10)

After doing the initial thoughts blog I've of course been playing, and playing lots of multiplayer, shooting lots of people, using C4, using Nova gas, using semtex, using the RC car, using napalm, mortar strikes. I've been an evil bastard, I will admit.

Okay so let's go boots on the ground with this:the options on the games are outrageous. Once you reach the required level to unlock the ability to do something as long as ya got the COD cash and are the right level buy away. I've bought C4 and claymore's(as my equipment), switched from willie pete's to Nova Gas, gone back and forth between semtex and frag grenades.

Why back and forth? Sometimes its better to have a frag grenade, the ability to roll towards a potential target especially if you cook it first(for those not familiar with the process of "cooking" a grenade its where you pull the pin hold it for a few seconds then toss it makes it harder to run away from) makes it devastating. Where as if you have a person potentially hiding by a door or wall a semtex grenada thrown against a near by wall might protect you from walking into an ambush.

That is also why I switched to nova gas from willie pete's if you aren't prepared for nova gas, the ticking away of you health saves me bullets. Plus somebody injured who walks into it might as well hang it up. Your dead fam, point blank period. The weapons are different then Modern Warfare 2, I miss my scar sometimes, but the Galil is nice. I'm using the AUG right now it does decent damage, has nice range, a large magazine and reloads in an OK amount of time, I may have to switch to slight of hand though. I'm just saying there are times when I could use that extra second or two.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Aaaah yes black ops, somehow I completely skipped black ops II but I really did enjoy the first one on PS3. This was shortly after my 360 had died(salute *taps playing in the background*) and I had changed over to the "enemy camp" (yes it's in quotation marks because I am an old gamer, it ain about the system it is all about the games. And the shiny new blu ray player the PS3 now had me using). PSN(playstatin network) may have more users on their network currently(as PS4 has shipped more units than Xbox one/Xbone and with the already installed PS3 units even though the 360 won last gaming cycle) but Xbox live always seems to have a better interface. No online interface can be perfect because we all don't use equal broadband providers. Some of us are kicking along with 15 down and 1-3 up while others are dealing with 5 down and .44 up(that's mbps). I remember Black Ops one fondly, I just didn't pick up Black ops II not really for any reason. Just like I didn't get Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, I have Ghosts I just didn't pick up the next one at the time.

I will start another post about DLC(Down Loadable Content, I know download is one word but that is how it is written, don't shoot the messenger), season passes, and the like later. Some feel it is the bane of the current gaming cycle(end of PS3/360 through the Playtation 4 and Xbox one lifetimes) others see it as a POTENTIAL for expanding/extending the life cycle of older games. Like I said that will be another blog. I hope you enjoy this throwback post no matter how short it is

The makings of a Baby Doo(9/27/11)

For those who have NEVER watched Scooby Doo, Scoob and his owner Shaggy at least once an episode would find themselves in a kitchen, pantry, or other food storage/preparation area.

++++++++++++++++

This was going to be the silliest post ever, I was making a sandwich a hilariously large sandwich for no other reason than I was bored AND hungry. I probably got busy thus never finished this post which was just silliness anyway. As I said it was scooby doo inspired really delicious and completely unnecessary. This is the fun of doing these posts, going back and wondering what the hell I was thinking at the time

Mutant and proud (6/18/11)

X-men First class is a break from the previous X-men movies, yes there were explosions, yes there were special effects but no it wasn't this polished old soldier against old soldier slugging it out in the trenches type of movie. In actuality First class even with all the "line up" changes was like watching an Xmen comic brought to life. While Charles Xavier is the most powerful Psychic mutant first and foremost he is a TEACHER, he wants to help mutants learn to harness their powers and become not only masters of themselves but also positive members of society. All the other movies there may have been a classroom here or there thrown in, but the lessons seemed unimportant. It was as if they were treating them like you treat schools in other movies, the boring part just thrown in so that the kids can relate. While yes sometimes the mutant kids got bored with their regular school assignments Professor X wouldn't allow them to not equate one with the other. You actually get to see him taking each mutant past his fears to a more positive center.

Eric Lennshur is a complicated man, he was at the concentration camps in Warsaw. One of initial manifestations of his powers was seeing his parents taken away from him when they were separating the parents from their children. I think as far as raw emotion is concerned the scene at the beginning of X-men 1 where you see young Eric grasp the iron gate with his fledgling mutant abilities and be immovable by 8 Nazi soldiers before being knocked unconsciously was epic. So the fact that for X-men:First Class they revisited that scene and went in depth as to "What happens next". You wonder why Magneto hates humans(Thoooooough technically Shaw isn't human more on that later), how would you feel if just to see you special abilities again somewhere hurt a relative? I mean in X-men you just assumed the Nazi's killed his parents and while he didn't see how it happened it was enough to be angry. In First Class it no longer is a guesstimation you see how and why, you see his "Virgin Vader Moment"(yes I mean the scene at the end of  Revenge of the Sith NOOOOOO! scream) and exactly how much power his anger releases. You see the beginning of his quest for vengeance and his distrust of homo sapiens sans superior(marvel has been known to call mutants Homo Sapiens Superior) due to his dealings with the Nazis as a young Jew.

===============================

I forgot I didn't finish this blog, I really did like First Class, no it wasn't perfect but it focused on more than just the relationship of 3 characters. It showed you that while powerful these people are still fragile, that their decisions aren't just straight, direct, and without doubt. I also like how they continued it in Days of future past, I don't remember Mystique being so prominent between Charles and Eric but they really are two brothers fighting for a cause in different ways. One looking at a more peaceful, steady, progression into a harmonies future while the other does not wish to wait. HE wants your action right now, he believes the slow way allows too much pain and if his choice is for the pain of HIS people or the pain of YOURS, yours can suffer until hell freezes over(which depending on if he has somebody mind controlling Bobby Drake may or may not happen quickly).

I love how they showcased Hanks intelligence, I don't think they really did Alex justice but it's hard to explain somebody's motivation when you didn't introduce it. Alex Summers is an orphan, to his knowledge a lone orphan and when his powers manifest he meets his older brother who is already this awesome super hero. Alex and Scott summers are one of the best Sibling Rivalry stories out there but since there is no Scott there really can't be a full Alex. This movie's Angel was a push, Darwin was a semi let down. Seriously the dudes powers are that he can evolve to survive anything, as a matter of fact if the Hulk is coming he evolves teleportation powers and gets outta Dodge. The bad guy played by Kevin Bacon was perfect, I liked their Emma Frost even if somehow she becomes a member of Magneto's Brotherhood instead of the leader of the Hellfire club.

Anyway rules are rules I still have fond memories of this movie and I might revisit the series once Apocalypse drops

Comic Book movies I want to see made DC: Wonder Woman(2013, I forgot to copy down the date on this one) Throwback Thursday

Yes, I want to see the Themysciran on the big screen by her lonesome. Wonder Woman is one of the few female lead characters to have her own book and not require a male lead of similar or the exact same powers to take charge. Batgirl is an off shoot from Batman, Mary Marvel is Captain Marvel/Shazaam's , Supergirl is Superman's cousin most of them have the same weaknesses(though some were given such extremely lame weaknesses that calling it sexist is being generous) as their male counterparts but Wonder Woman has no XY peer in DC ville. Now especially in her current iteration(she has had a few reboots) her main peers are real heavy weights, she has strength, speed, and flight abilities similar to Superman, and her mind has been put on the level with Batman. Yes the paragons of the DC brand Batman's brains, Superman's strength and all within a curvy and yet steel willed body.

Depending on which Wonder Woman you were first introduced to she has gone from the JLA secretary(I will cite this later on in the blog put the knives and arrows away, I myself was surprised), to a pretty smile with some damn good reflexes and great lasso skills(Super Friends). Then you have the Justice League era(if there was one between it I will do more research and amend this in the piece either in this first overview or in the second my reasons why) Wonder Woman where she was the Ambassador for Paradise Island the Amazon homeland, skilled warrior, power house, with a pro female mindset. I don't want to call it hyper feminist or feminist because in a sense where she was from it's as normal as our patriarchal societal view, women were always in charge, they handled the majority of business, defense, and learning, men were around but for the most part they were for breeding. Now I am not forgetting about things that have been raised in the DC new 52(I understand that I probably need to update my former Justice League piece since the New 52 had just started and I had kind of gotten lost in it. I want to catch up and then give more details) but I will address that with other things like the Linda Carter live action TV series from the late 70's. While there are Marvel Female characters that she is similar to(strength, speed, flight) she is a lot like Captain America in the fact that a lot of her back story was heavily based in WWII. Add into that her attachment to Greek Mythology(it's still Greek Mythology even in the New 52, I wondered if they would switch it to Roman but I like that much of the adherence to her pre New 52 past). I am also fond of the new direction they have taken with Wonder Girl, and possibly Donna Troy/Troai though Donna has not shown up as of yet, but as I got through different books there are hints at a previous Teen Titans so she may be a part of that.

Knock Knock, is this thing on?(4/8/13) Throwback Thursday

I looked in the mirror and I am not liking what I see lately. And no it isn't that my weight has yo yoed up and down again, pfft I ate those pastries, drank that soda, coffee, and parked my ass in the drive thru at those fast food restaurants. That I can deal with, what I can't is that I have had a few things too say over the last few weeks and you know what you have gotten out of me? A big fat nothing.

Now yes, this weekend I have a valid excuse: The flu, so even last nights erased offering still falls under that purview but I only had the flu for 4 to 5 days(actually may still have it but dammit I'm tired of being confined to my room, walking around staring at the four walls and the sun coming through the blinds) not 4 to 5 months. Life is an active thing, until it is over for you it is constantly in motion life never stops you do. Even if I were to sit here in this chair all day, not voluntarily moving a single muscle I would still notice programs changing on the TV, time would pass, the fire behind me would either spark back up(making me happy) or it will continue to smolder, smoke and piss me off(Grrrr).

The why, really don't know probably just being human. I get in, I'm tired, I sit down and while my mind is unwinding instead of opening up my blog I just sit there letting the ideas brew but never adjusting the heat of the pot or pouring a cup. There are a few things I really want to talk about, Like Manti Te'o seriously people why are we letting the media and ourselves pretend what happened to him is NEW, ODD or even SURPRISING? Hello, are you forgetting about the girl who was Cyber Bullied by the mom of one of her classmates. How about the old joke that 90% of all women on the internet are really men? Let us not forget about multi user ID'd trolls. It's the internet a good half of the people who are on the internet are pretending to be someone they are not, but I will get into that later(I hope). The Wayne Lap(really don't care how his name is spelled) rant screaming for attention realizing that his gun manufacturing buddies are going to get a cut in the profit margin. I have nothing against profit, but ladies and gents if criminals aren't having a hard time getting their hands on

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Obviously I have often had issues with take long hiatuses from blogging, As this throwback shows it is a constant fight I endure. Like anyone else if a malaise hits, I may just not sign in. Not that I have nothing to say, but I may not be in the mood to put the effort in to say it.

I mean seriously, who hasn't taken a day or three and just said to hell with it. Well with me it can be weeks, months or years. As just like I am a "strike when the iron is hot" kind of guy, I am also a "don't force it to fit" type of guy. I hate drudging through anything just to say "I did it." If I don't want to, then I won't and we all will be better for it. Hell on my wordpress blog I had actually finished a story and just needed to edit it but completely forgot about it in draft. It's actually gotten a few views, warning It's adult content little kiddies need not read it, at all.

I'm not kidding, that really is nothing short of raunchy and it was just sitting there languishing because welp I just didn't get around to it. Somedays I just type the story out, how ever the words come out, and then PLAN to go back later and whip it in to some type of legible state. Punctuation, paragraph structure(which I really do suck at, but I at least make an attempt), grammar, colloquialism, dialect and even pacing if a story is just pouring out of me I will go back and add them later. I have a few friends who come through and help me out. Tell me if my spelling is off(me and homonyms ain friends, nor are me and spelling sometimes. And my typos yeeesh), give a grammar critique here and there and for that I truly appreciate them. Some even help me to re-edit or re-imagine endings that I feel are tortured. Because sometimes a hard stop sucks, but a soft skid is amazing.

Anyway I actually have a few more throwback posts to get ready but this one I think is definitely relevant.

Sequels vs. Remakes(6/18/11)

As "Summer Movie Season" is in full swing we are getting some new entries as well as a case of the "going back to the well/golden goose". What I mean by this are sequels and remakes, movies that either already have an invested audience or that were winners in the past and thus a new reimagining with an updated cash could wring a few more dollara out. The most successful character for sequels has to be James Bond, he may not always knock it out of the park but as for the entirety of my 30 plus years I have seen james bond movies being made (and I think Daniel Craig is the 7th or 8th bond now). The most successful Remake is probably Batman Begins with Star Trek(2009) being a close second(Kitsune feels that The Karate kid is a better remake then both). Enough of the preliminaries let's me go on and dig on in

Sequels

Studios and movie chains love sequels because in MOST causes you have a guarenteed audience. If you fell in love with the characters the first time, even if the movie appeared to be a sleeper at first(say Bourne Identity) if it gets legs and people fall in love with the characters they will most likely come back to see them do it one more time. Usually studios lock in the cast for 2 or 3 movies in hopes that if it is a blockbuster you don't have to too much worry about scheduling concerns, renegotiations, or fan gripes about continuity(though a few recent sequels in the last decade have worked around that issue and come out mostly unscathed). The most popular sequel of all times and I don't think I'm going out on a limb with it I feel is :

Episode V the Empire Strikes Back
To say this sequel sucked in its fans and their friends, as well as shaped sci fi for years to come(hell scientists still to this day do "Debunking the science of Star Wars" shows) is such an understatement. Star Wars was such a moment in movie history that most people can remember their first viewing, as well as their favorite scenes.

Second is probably a newer film The Dark Knight. Now while the first one falls in the "Remake/Reboot" category the sequel was movie theater gold. It didn't hurt that Heath Ledgers Joker face paint became some type of political football with pictures of both Barack Obama and Fox News host Glenn Beck showing up as the

This one was originally being done on either my phone or my tablet way back in 2011, I think I had the thrive back then but maybe not. SO it could have been on the Galaxy Note One, or even my motorola Backflip. Fun times. I may revisit this subject later especially with Even more remakes, sequels, and rehashes being released in the last few years. But whatever my thoughts were on this June day I never got back to finishing them. Yes I see the spelling errors that would have HOPEFULLY been caught when I finished writing and went to editing, but I am human I do miss things
