The Mirage

I see it there, I see the tops of it's gleaming parapets over the next rise
It's bright lights gleaming seductively, calling to me, just a few more steps
Sometimes I think I can make out the name, a fuzzy H maybe is that a P I think I see an S too
My lungs burn with the effort
My legs on fire, jellied by my constant trudging
I'm this close though, I can swear I hear the hustle and bustle
Mr Softee tilting address
The sounds of summer, giddy children
Dogs are barking, cars humming and life continuing on
my windburned face and sun baked visage an unnoticed stranger
I'm on the road not yellow bricks but blistering asphalt
but that's progress. First it was dirt, then gravel and now pitch
already I imagine the errands I am about to run
first I need to find a comfy seat with some good food
a tasty beverage to kick the dust bunnies out of my dehydrated throat
You know a new pair of shoes would be nice
as trust worthy as my current foot wear has been it is just as travel weary as I
I can make out the sign better now
I almost thought it read peace but no
It reads happiness and I am almost
the wind blows dust into my face and I sneeze violently
my eyes close and my head starts ringing
I wipe and open my eyes ready to continue my joyful thoughts
only to see
to see
a ghost town laid out in front of me
I still hear the sounds, I even have the smell of some good pie in my nose
but the town I am on the road for is no longer happiness
happiness it seems is still in the distance
this town is despair
I look around me, blink a few times, even shake my head in case it is a trick
My feet still ache
the jello attached to them wobble slowly forward
and my lungs belch dusty pain
but I do not have time for despair
I started this walk to happiness and dammit happiness is where I am going to be

NFL Week 2

These are my thoughts and my thoughts only.

First off on my Eagles, that loss Sunday night was hard to take. We were kicking Atlanta's tail and we let them off the hook, the coach admitted it, the players knew it, and if ANYBODY starts talking how over rated and overblown our team is I can't wait to play yours. We had a guy with NO regular season NFL snaps in the game and I wonder if the coach would have taken the leash off earlier if we wouldn't be talking about the 2-0 Eagles instead of the gritty 1-1 Falcons. We need to tackle better, it wasn't just Casey Matthews while everyone wants to blame him, even on the last drive there were at least 4 missed tackles before he crossed the 50.  As for the Offense, if we can cut down on the dropsies, that 4th quarter doesn't even matter. I also think Andy Reid needs to fall out of love with some of those gadget plays, one gadget play cost us field position(that lead to the first fumble), and the other one made a 3rd and 3 a 4th and 4.  We have the backs to run screen plays, we are the Philadelphia Eagles in the Andy Reid era we have been known as the "screen kings" why not let Dion Lewis or Shady Mccoy who had been eating Atlanta up all game long have a go at them, get it to a 4th and one maybe or even the first. Hell do a play action and get Kafka to stop being so focused on Maclin, and give Djax a chance in the open field(unless his arm injury was so severe that he was really just a decoy out there).

Defenses

I think we are gonna see quite a few new Defensive Coordinators at the end of the year, it may be good for the league to see games coming down to the wire and things being so run and gun, but I think I saw at least 4 games this weekend and possibly 5 last where the team with the lead through 3 quarters wasn't the team who won the game. Talking to my dad he thinks that defense was hurt by the lockout, I think that with all the turnover we had when free agency began a lot of teams are playing looser since they have an excuse no OTA, two a days, and fewer 10-10-10's if you start slow you have a ready made excuse. This is bringing a lot of parity to the league and making a lot of teams wake up and stop hitting cruise control like they have some kind of edge just because they brought back a strong team from last year.

Another lull

I could blame my lack of production blogwise on the heat, a heavy work load, even getting lost in the keys, it's no excuse though. Even with my new laptop unlike before when I would sit up and write until I fell asleep(or watch porn, it was a toss up  but writing usually got done too) I have not gotten myself fully back into that habit yet. It's sad but especially as of late I won't say I have commitment issues I will say my stick to  it tiveness is at an all time low.  I mean yes I have followed through on some things and yes, I am sure if I check I am well over 120 posts to this here blog. I also know that a good portion of those 120 posts came in may when I was a blogging fool(it happens when it happens), part of it inspired by the fact that thanks to that Tornado/severe thunderstorm that rolled through we had no power so the only thing I could do was blog to clear my head. No power meant no video games, no facebook, the barest of human interaction because in essence I was cut off from the digital world.

Every little happenstance became a reason for me to write, cause for me to look back later and either laugh or shake my head. Hell I even have stopped writing my movie reviews(mainly because I am so far behind), I have seen Green Lantern, X-men:First class, Transformers, and Captain America now(I didn't get a chance to peep HP7 pt2 yet, but I will) done a few trailers posts for them, but as far as reviews go NADA. I actually have this long one written for X-men that I want to break up into a smaller piece but well at the moment my brain just isn't fitting the pieces together in a way that I'm liking.  While in the book I read a few weeks ago it mentions how "talking politics on a blog was a death knell", I happen to like talking about politics sometimes and personally the best thing about a blog or website that you produce the content for: You can do it your way. So yes my political views may scare some folks off but hey, if you disagree be brave enough to say it with your keyboard. I may moderate you out of here if you are off topic(my content is diverse enough that you could probably find SOMETHING that you can speak on without hijacking a post) too much but I'm not so heartless as to say "You disagree with me so you have to go".

A complaint to or about me is not the same as stabbing me in the back

Can I get yall to gather a little closer for me, yeah don't violate anybody else's personal space but make sure you can hear me on this one. This is the land of free speech, if there is something on your mind get it off. Say what you have to say, be honest and open about your concerns it doesn't mean I(or the person you are talking to at the time if you ain speaking to me) will agree with you but at least there will be no hard feelings because I possible stepped on your toes or because something you said got back to me when we were standing right next to each other. See there is this "common wisdom" right now that if you complain to or about someone, that you are betraying them. Not at all, if there is a problem that I don't see but you do guess what? If you don't tell me it won't get fixed, or if it can't get fixed you won't know that unless you tell me so I can explain to you what this issue is with said item. Now understand, if it is a personal quirk of mine that you have an issue with it may not get fixed but at least I will know "okay this is something you don't want to ride with, I won't pick you up for this adventure", and guess what because you let me know up front NO HARD FEELINGS.

Now if all you do is talk bad about me behind my back, constantly sharpening knives and only getting ya tiger on when I turn my back as not to see who's throat I should be grabbing, THAT is stabbing me in the back, if you are sure about what you have to say then possibly give me you preliminary concerns and say "but let me get back to you because I may have been mistaken", I won't be mad something bothered you yet before you make to big a deal about it you wanna get more info, I completely respect that. I see you constantly talking until I walk into the room and then you get all busy and act like your eyes and my direction are the same magnetic charge and never the two shall meet, I understand you want drama, and this ain the daytime soaps. It seems to have become a habit of late that detraction is the cuisine dujuor. Why do the hard work of figuring out what is actually going on when you can resort to sensationalism, innuendo, loose association and inference to drum up "traffic".

The one downside to blogging on a cell

No autosave so if your droid freezes, or your blogging program force closes Ooooooh Nooooooo, yup every keystroke, picture and anecdote is gone. Which is okay if you hadn't hit your stride yet, but sucks if you're say in the 3rd or 4th paragragh. I think the basic rule of the computer age has been "save early and save often", because if something goes wrong its better to lose a line or two than the whole blog.

Luckily it was just a flight of fancy, nothing major I was basically gonna write it and "publish" it as a draft to smooth the rough edges later on tonight. As its el flusho now, I gotta start from scratch(and yes as annoying as the go in and out may being I'm saving this one every few sentences) so blogger-droid, official blogger app either way ya still gotta save early and often, cause the bad boys don't include "autosave"

OLO

Semi bored so I'm sitting here writing and I'm bored blog. I'm back at the site we were working at yesterday but we had some power issues so now we're trying to resolve them.

Its drizzling today so no outside work is going to get done PLUS I have to go to Marianna again so I will be out of signal range(yaaaaay me). But hopefully it will be a quick run and back. We have to drop off a monitor in Hughes(which is on the way) pick up some mail at the old PO box and come back. We've got 10 out of 13 cameras working and have to find a missing 3 from before.  I got the other 3 up and working it was a bad plug up front, couldn't get his puter on the internet but I'm gonna let the other tech handle that

Mom's birthday is in 3 days and she should just be getting back in town. Now what should I get her for her B-day hmm I happen to like my budding blu ray collection so that's out(what, they get grippy with the movies they like), Baby bro wants to get her this collectors edition scrabble set which sounds cool(not that we've played scrabble in like ever I'm captain typo and lord of bad spelling scrabble ain my bag). Now as for Christmas I have no clue what I am getting anybody

Maaan this shawty is so lucky I ain have my phone out to take a picture of her crack headed self. Who out of nowhere just starts SCREAMING "Purple Rain" and ain wearing head phones. And ONLY "purple Rain" no other words. I ain gonna say its an advance stage of crackishness, but it is crackish and I wish I could have documented it. Oh well my day is like that sometimes I come to these weird off the wall places and see crazy things.

Two stops down, mostly successful trips and one to go. "Go Team Tech" okay technically there is not "Tech Team" its two people baby bro is along for the ride because rarely to me and the other tech roll together to a site. I let bay bro do all the work on this one it was just plugging up a monitor and doing a site evaluation. He's got a bad camera, we unplugged it, we'll order him a new one and bring it back.

Now I'm trying to go so we can hit Marianna and come back, but not him nooooo, bay bro takin his sweet ole time. And with no signal I can give him the ol "ey make it snappy". Saiight it was a pretty quick trip
Marianna quick, clean no fuss. A quick stop for lunch those double XXL chalupas are okay messy not as filling as one would think with all that puffy bread. We're back in Memphis now hit Aldi's for some cheese(pepper jack and provolone), and walmart for some more steaks(walmart has this great value brand cause they were out of steakumms, what I'm from philly/south jersey) and some cheddar cheese. Oh and two things of wheat hoagie rolls. Hey sometimes you want a taste of home and nothing says philly/south jersey like a cheese steak.

So about to make the steaks, saute the onions crack the rolls and do the damn thing. I hope everyone had a great day

Another snoozer

Today was another laid back day in the world of Mr. Data. I ran into some new malware/spyware something that basically ate someones camera system. Funny thing is this one won't allow me to scan it, the scan keeps breaking down, I've tried to run a scan on it 3 times now, next option is the portable cd-rom drive after that WIPEOLA, yup it's late the scan itself would have taken anyway from 7-14 hours(depends on how I set it up), but since it has now crashed 3 straight times a reload will take about 2(if the boss approves). I mean I see ALL the data that is supposed to be there already on the puter, it's probably got a secondary hard drive so I could erase probably the main hard drives worth of info and move the guys data over. Again this is a talk to the boss moment if the scan doesn't work it already seems like this thing wants to get extra as far as the fighting is concerned.

My baby bro just got his new phone so he is running around checking it's features and being mildly annoying, but who cares a new toy is a new toy, we all act somewhat childish once we get our grubby little fingers on our new gadget. On black ops(yeah yeah blog STILL to be completed but hell now I have more info) I have hit PRESTIGE 1, which means I can now run through and re level up and re earn all my goodies, which is kind of annoying but then again I skipped it last game why not try it this one, I'll earn a little more dough but a few more items and them run out and do what I do, granted once I do it a few things will be lost:My beloved crossbow(sniff sniff), my nova gas, my beloved aug, and my shotgun.  Granted of all the things I am losing(the rest of the stuff can be bought back once I get the money for it) the shotgun I think is like 5 or 6 levels in so it ain that terrible. It's just the principle of not having my favorite customs anymore.

Oh well off to cleaning and to editing the blog I did while walking

*snnnnnzzzzzzzrk*

I'm sleepy as hell right now. I slept last night but I guess I slept wrong or just didn't really rest because I'm still tired, not "I'm a gremlin I hate daylight" tired but I haven't slept in X amount of days tired(and I've been there and done that. A few times for work, a few times goofing off).

Welp I just got hit by "smelling salts" so the tiredness is gone. Yup I need a vacation, to hell with nobodies business I'm telling the world I need a vacation. I need to go enjoy some Georgia thickness and Carolina hospitality. I wasn't in any mood before but now I'm annoyed.

As "personable" as I keep my blog I really don't "spill" so while I won't give the reason for the trip I'm glad my wife arrived at her destination safely(I may add a picture of her later). She may be planning to do a much faster turn around than I would like but if I want to be all preachy and concerned I should be there to give her another option right, right. I ain so I can just stick that in my pipe and smoke it.

Another around the M-town day I guess, I'm supposedly going to be dropped of with cuz so we'll see how my day shakes out
