Call of Duty:Black ops III

It's been a few years since I talked about the games I am currently(or recently) playing, and while I know I talked about playing the original(aaaaah my lovely and dearly missed crossbow, I knew you well) I skipped over the second black ops. This one is more of the same, but with the added twist of some of the mechanics of Cod(Call of Duty for casual and non gamers) Advanced Warfare, which I didn't actually play. I think at the time I was either CoD burned out, or else I just wasn't in the mood yet. Anyway kind of fresh off the presses(It came out November 6, 2015), I pre-ordered it, picked it up day one, did the day one software update(I don't know why every game has one now adays but they do) and booted it up.

Now I know I have mentioned it before but I don't really play these games for the story mode, some of them are fun, and nice, hell you can even get a decent understanding of how to play the games from them, but honestly I am here for on-line play. Both major systems have adequate multiplayer set ups so this isn't like X-box vs Playstation 2, regardless of system you can get your frag on. Anyway

I decided to do a more expansive blog about the Deadpool movie

Of course, since it is an R rated movie I really can't express my complete and total joy over here about it. So yes that means I am sending you over to my wordpress blog (like so) *ding*. Yes it may be a slight bit of self promotion, but I promise I added trailers and everything, you'll have fun really.

You don't even have to read anything past the Deadpool post, which thinking back I may have forgot to add categories too so I will be updating it shortly but that's it. You want to see something else on there go ahead but this post is Just about talking about Deadpool. I find Deadpool hilarious, I actually wish Disney Marvel would pony of the dough so we could get a Spideypool movie and trust me you want a SpideyPool movie. No no, don't argue you will thank me later, I know Disney is rolling in the bucks after Avengers, Avengers Age of Ultron, Captain America Winter Soldier, and Now Star Wars the Force Awakens, yall have dough and you have been selling Merch likes it's been going out of style buy back X-men give the fans what they really want:

Spider-man, Deadpool, Hulk and Wolverine all in a movie together. I mean if I had people who comment on my posts I could guarantee you it would be a deluge of "take my money NOW" gifs, memes, money tear emojis, and rawkus hallelujahs for something they didn't even realize they needed until I just said it was might be possible. But only if you do this for us Disney, isn't one of your theme songs "when you wish upon a star" unfortunately it's day time, then again it's night time somewhere and we are wishing

I didn't mention it because I was hoping it would GO THE HELL AWAY(throwback Thursday 2014)

If you have been observing the weather channel as of late you will notice that the devil appears to be enjoying a nice long vacation. By that I mean down here in the midsouth hot is a damn understatement, it was 106 yesterday, let me repeat that it was ONE HUNDRED AND SIX DEGREES yesterday(yes for only like 2 hours between noon and 3 pm but ahem the 104 it was residing at for the rest of the damn day was no freakin' peach either) now I don't know about you but last time I checked this wasn't the Mojave and I was trying to enter the world of Rango. I know this used to be the doorstep to the old wild west but that was then and dammit this is now, Land of the AC home of the slushie. I shouldn't walk out my front door and immediately begin sweating like I just ran 2 miles.

There's warm

There's Hot

There's too hot

And there's "I'm not that idiot who doesn't believe in climate change, global warming or that we are damaging our planet so could you please quit playing and turn the air back on"

When charging ports go bad(throwback thursday)

As you all know last year I got the Galaxy Note one, a phone I love dearly(of course a few months after I got it the Galaxy note II dropped but that Motorola backflip was killing me), for work. The phone works great, everything I need to do for work I can do(granted when the Galaxy Note 3 comes out you will see a new hotness post) and have even shown my boss the beauty of doing more on the cloud using the phone(since he has one too). As an admission of jealousy Eikichi recently left the cult of Blackberry for a Galaxy Note 2 and he loves it so getting the three is a SLIGHT imperative since he can not have the faster phone. This is not to say that everything is hunky dory, most likely because of how I yank the thing off the charger, as well as beat up the cords the charging port is not working so well. I can get it to work but it requires a bit of ingenuity

Something new

It's Thursday, and while I'm not a huge fan of posting old pictures(mainly because a younger me was not too fond of taking them) I figure I could do something equally crazy, I could go through and post old drafts from this blog, as is. A few will pop up today

Whoop dee, who cares about a few posts that didn't make the cut right. Well that isn't really how writing works with me, sometimes it isn't that an idea didn't make the cut it's more that: I got busy, lost my train of thought, swore I would get back to it, and then a bunch of weeks passed and whoops you are forever languishing in the drafts folder.

The Lord of the Changa

It's February, for many that means you are scratching your pennies together and trying to take that special someone out on a date so that on March 14th you've earned that steak and BJ. No I'm not being cynical some of yall are really that shallow, I'm not saying I would turn down a nice thick cut of beef, or a mouth hug but I'm hoping to get those regularly(diet permitting on the steak). For the rest of us, it means a certain movie that probably seemed like a pipe dream, and sadly that some have grabbed the pipe over.

That's right I'm talking about Deadpool, no not the guy at the end of Wolverine Origins. That looked like Fox kidnapped a Mortal Kombat character and couldn't afford his speaking fees, yes I'm still bitter. This movie holds slightly more significance for me because one of the bredren gets to see it as a birthday present. It's close enough to his birthday that this time he isn't just mooching a movie(yes he has done that before, no I don't care if he reads this and gives me a dirty look). Deadpool being who he is, usually sparks a little bit of controversy and of course this time is no different.

Once again into the breach

Hi, once again it's been a while. Something about blogging from a tablet wasn't appealing to me. I had a keyboard for my tablet I just never used it. Kind of like my Sketchbook program for my tablet.

Plus I cracked the dang thing, twice. Yes I said twice, new super hero movies are coming up and hopefully I get to go see most of them. It's February so if you don't know what movie is coming up, shame on you. I actually do plan to give the DC movies a chance, will reviews be coming, who knows. I gotta be in a certain headspace to do reviews, plus I have to fight against my need for perfection. Which is why my last few reviews didn't come out before my previous blogging device gave up the ghost.

There will be no jump with this one, I don't EXPECT to type that much this time. I've got two blogs I have been neglecting, and I don't know about you but that takes a special amount of negligence to ditch two blogs, but hey I ain no quitter. For those who checked in my absence thank you, hope you enjoyed. Leave a comment, complain about my writing style or even my subject matter. I'm not gonna change a single thing but I will respond

Breaking in the new toy

as we all know I recently got a new work phone and while I have mostly used it for work I have tried out some of the new features that I found in it. As my youngest brother has a note 2 and the program isn't on there I want to talk about an app called Sketchbook. Sketchbook allows you to take your S pen and basically drawn on the screen like it is a piece of paper. It gives you quite a few different "writing" utensils to choose from and even some photoshop like brushes. Which is right up my alley, a few years ago(around the time I got the targus case for my laptop) I also bought one of those old composition books, oh you know the one. If you're steadily inching closer to fogeyhood(shut it), it was one of those splotchy covered black books with the wide lines every teacher wanted you to have(that you would RARELY freakin use. That could have been video game money teach) or currently multicolored splotchy covered book. My plan was to write, sketch just do whatever came to mind while I was going about my day and fill in the book so that I could come home and transfer it to the blog or keep working on it later.

As my blog has been mostly empty for the last two years that OBVIOUSLY went swimmingly. one of the main problems was that while I wanted to do stuff with a pen in my hand I usually didn't have a damn pen. And those books I borrowed from the library, yeah I didn't have half the art supplies I needed to attempt the drawings and you can only go so far with a pen and and number 2 pencil. So that was such a screaming success that I kind of forgot all about it.

I'm a strike while the iron is hot kinda guy

I know some of my posts can seem kind of moody, thing is they don't always reflect my actual mood. I may just get a thought and let it play out, it can be somber, it can be cheerful, hell it can be all over the place. The thing is if I don't at least write/type it out then who knows when it will circle back up to the surface, I have issues with that. Having a great idea and then allowing the monotony of the day drive it out of my head and completely forgetting about it.

Hell I may start typing out a post, get to a point where the thoughts have run out of gas come back and finish them later. Some ideas have more gas then others, if I am near my laptop or a computer I just might let them play out I just ain sure. Hell I try to tag the damn posts sometimes but since my mood may not fit the post my mind is like ummmmmm which way did he ......

The Mirage

I see it there, I see the tops of it's gleaming parapets over the next rise
It's bright lights gleaming seductively, calling to me, just a few more steps
Sometimes I think I can make out the name, a fuzzy H maybe is that a P I think I see an S too
My lungs burn with the effort
My legs on fire, jellied by my constant trudging
I'm this close though, I can swear I hear the hustle and bustle
Mr Softee tilting address
The sounds of summer, giddy children
Dogs are barking, cars humming and life continuing on
my windburned face and sun baked visage an unnoticed stranger
I'm on the road not yellow bricks but blistering asphalt
but that's progress. First it was dirt, then gravel and now pitch
already I imagine the errands I am about to run
first I need to find a comfy seat with some good food
a tasty beverage to kick the dust bunnies out of my dehydrated throat
You know a new pair of shoes would be nice
as trust worthy as my current foot wear has been it is just as travel weary as I
I can make out the sign better now
I almost thought it read peace but no
It reads happiness and I am almost
the wind blows dust into my face and I sneeze violently
my eyes close and my head starts ringing
I wipe and open my eyes ready to continue my joyful thoughts
only to see
to see
a ghost town laid out in front of me
I still hear the sounds, I even have the smell of some good pie in my nose
but the town I am on the road for is no longer happiness
happiness it seems is still in the distance
this town is despair
I look around me, blink a few times, even shake my head in case it is a trick
My feet still ache
the jello attached to them wobble slowly forward
and my lungs belch dusty pain
but I do not have time for despair
I started this walk to happiness and dammit happiness is where I am going to be

Comprehension is the thing

I don't know if any of you have notice, but the farther I get away from something mentally the clearer I see it. Now let us make a few things crystal clear, for what I saw of the NFC championship game I thought it was the worst officiated debacle I had seen in quite some time. Hell right before "the play" I was in a hang out with some friends talking about how if Kaepernick did lead that comeback he would be legend(even if you don't win the Super Bowl come back victories like that are discussed for years, 4th and 26 anyone?). So honestly I thought the game was going to go a different way

But then, as happens so awesomely in football, a player made a play. Not only did he make a play but he found a way to make it when he looked out of position, beaten, or even a step late. Richard Sherman deflected the pass in the end zone that Earl Thomas intercepted. The Seahawks won the game and then all hell and stupidity broke lose

the once and future case

I mentioned I was gonna get a new otterbox for my phone and here it is

Now there are differences and similarities between my first and this otterbox. The similarities are of course they are bother pretty damn snug to the phone, which I like. Also with the new thinness of the GN3 the otterbox case really doesn't bulk it up to much. just like the case for my note one it comes in 4 pieces

New work phone part Deux

It finally happened, kind of hilariously actually. The ONE time I do not attempt to juggle catch my Galaxy Note One when it is knock out of my hand I don't hear the tell tale *clack* but a somewhat muffled *crunch*. I know there is a post on here a few years back showing my Note 1 in it's Otterbox, and I sung the glories of the Otterbox case. And still will, I mean back in the summer I dropped it off the top of a 12 foot ladder into some turf and it survived unscratched. Well the phone was unscratched, the case has slowly but surely been showing the wear and tear of being owned by me. The difference between this time and that is simple, any Otterbox user will tell you the ONLY weakness in the case is that if you catch a corner in the center the phone is toast. as you can see from the picture it's got a big white scratch in the center. so after a few days of mourning(I really did love that phone, it was finally beginning to show it's age) I had to figure out what I was gonna do next. I have two phones for a reason, after 7:30 I'm not picking up my work phone for anybody. I like to keep business and personal firmly separated. So since I didn't want to start giving out my personal number to clients for anything, they meant I had to get on the ball about getting a new work phone.

Now if you have read this blog lately you know my birthday happened recently(yes I broke my phone AFTER my birthday, aaah the irony of life) so I couldn't just turn around and put up some puppy dog eyes and be like "it's my birfday could you please buy me expensive piece of technology so that I might geek out?"

I don't know what you heard about me

But ya can't get a

I'm not actually listening to PIMP by fiddy but it is going through my mind right now. New year, same ol me, same attitude, same stable convictions, and damn sure the same guy who used to run his mouth a lot on this here blog. Things I don't do though are New years resolutions, I mean if you ask me I can whip up a list of things and CALL them new years resolutions but they are really just plans that I already had in the works. I am not downing anybody who makes new years resolution, I have plenty of friends who do and they seem to be pretty good at keeping up with them.

My thing is since I do tend to thing to much I always go along with the whole "if plan a-d or whatever letter I got to didn't work let's start with the next one." I feel that each new year is a new chapter in your old book, not a completely new book and as such I were to completely start over I would get lost. I mean how the hell did I get to where I currently am? Am I lost, or am I late for some appointment, how did the last book end? So yeah new chapter and whats up with this chapter hmm let's see

Yearly House cleaning Blog

ugh, I can't believe something I used to do all the time is now like pulling teeth. I mean I actually already had this blog half way written and I deleted it.

Okay time to put that 30+ word a minute typing ability to use.

2013 what the hell was I doing

I'm going to dig my head out of the covers for this one

Yup today is my birthday "huzzah huzzah", fireworks, those weird crackling things, kazoos, and loud noises, oh wait my birthday is Christmas eve ain none of that happening because everybody is doing their last minute shopping.

For those who wish me a happy birthday I thank you, I'll be around the city somewhere observing my amended holiday tradition(ain too many malls left so it will just be a large shopping venue in the area). I'm Alive, I know things came up and I was less inclined to share. But if nothing else I got a few nice gifts for my birthday:

During an guaranteed rebuilding year my favorite football team has a meaningful game on the last weekend of December, my favorite basketball team while tanking appears to have actually picked up some good talent for once(though they appear to be trying to suck the life out of him already, stay strong MCW), life goes on, I learn, I reorganize and I continue on.

I may at the end of the year do a recap, this winters weather has been a trip.  So many thoughts, so little time, so little drive to express them probably sums a lot of it up.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Why everybody going Batfleck is a little misguided pt 2

Yes I know that wasn't the other title, I don't feel like retyping that whole thing(call me lazy on this one, that definitely earns it). I personally feel that there are a lot of similarities between the characters of Batman/Bruce Wayne and Daredevil/Matt Murdock. Even Aesthically, if you look at their costumes both of them have assumed looks that are menacing and meant to draw on your fears. Once DD got over his color blindedness (I will joke about that later) and donned his Blood Red Spandex those who broke the law in Hell's Kitchen really did see the devil. As for Gotham's underworld I give Nolan a huge nod in Batman Begins for having his caped Crusader glide overtop of the city during it's build to the climax while the entire city was under the influence of Scarecrows toxin looking like a nightmare instead of a savior.

Similarities of the Characters

Why everybody going Batcrap crazy over Ben Affleck as Batman is a little misguided pt.1

Let's be honest here a few of yall are mad because you don't like Ben Affleck as an actor, those folks hey if you don't like somebody you don't and nothing the person does will EVER be good to you. I'm not talking to you, because you are allowed not to like who you don't want to like. I'm the same way with Dane Cook, dude just isn't funny to me. While there are roles where I say okay, yes Dane Cook worked in that, they are few and far between and I ain searching out a Dane Cook movie JUST to see if he worked in it. We could get into how I LOATHE Jamie Kennedy ENTIRELY but you know what that is a blog in itself, when he came out he was like a poor man's version of Dane Cook to me so yeah he had no chance.

Some of you guys are basing your dislike for Ben Affleck as Batman because you disliked the Daredevil movie, I am partially talking to yall. Mainly because you are mad at Ben Affleck because you were expecting a Blind Spider-man which is YOUR fault not his. Some of you really don't read Marvel Comics, don't understand where MOST of their characters come from, and thus when you come at it from the ORIGINAL DC stand point you get some chapped hides. From a guy pushing 40 let me give you the basic breakdown of DC vs Marvel: when I was younger MOST of the DC characters were models of perfection, yes they had the normal super hero mishap Superman his planet was destroyed. But his life:he was a kid who had almost perfect Step Parents(John and Martha), was raised on a farm with love and caring, and while he had a few issues tamping down his powers as a child(well not really in a lot of the early comics he didn't get his powers til his teen years so he had a mostly normal life) for the most part he had it pretty steady. The Flash: was a pretty decent police lab tech(don't know if they called them csi's back then but normally he worked in a lab doing work for the police), a lightning bolt hits some chemicals he becomes your faster than life speed demon. Oh wait I should pause I am doing the comics from MY Childhood I understand there was a flash before Barry Allen I just didn't read him that much, the Magical Ring green lantern either. Even Batman Rich kid, having a pretty good time then he's parents are killed after a pretty good night and while still privileged he is tortured for the rest of his life and goes out to fight crime. Early on he actually used guns, was less of a fighting specialist and more of just a brawler, and while he had gadgets he wasn't as super prepared as he is now.

The Rules

When I started this blog I set a rather strict guideline:no cursing. Oh I've skirted it a few times, walked right up to the edge, hell jumped off the deep end but brought myself back to righteousness when editing. I have, though, observed the rules to the best of my abilities. There is a cost, there are certain subjects that it is almost impossible for me to discuss without needing four to eight letters. 12 if I am deslanging one of my favorites.

I am an emotional being, cool when I can reign them it, caustic to vindictive when I can not. Thus when I read the Trayvon Martin verdict surprised? Please I grew up black,  and in New Jersey no less. I remember going from not noticing women holding their purses when I stood in line with them to being enraged when I noticed they even did it to 5 and 6 year olds.

Jason Whitlock, I don't agree with "crab in a barrel" philosophical positions because I believe most driven people are stronger than the forces determined to hold them back. You have to be, to be successful in anything the odds are so hard against you that it's laughable how we think a few negative Nelly's make a difference.  Say an athlete when of the probably million people their age playing basketball they may be amongst the 100 that get drafted. Jay is special though, it takes a huge amount of guts to not only disparage athletes but to also point at one of the most successful men in his field(Jay-z)and say "oh no these other best of the best in their genre shouldn't listen to him".

If I'm not mistaken Whitlock and Sean Carter (yes I'm using Hov's government I'd have used his other but its just a way to say Jay that ***** and well the rules) have been in "the media" one music, the other sports reporting since about the mid to late 90's. One has bought and sold his stake in a basketball team and the other is barely podcasting as a side hustle to his print reporting.

This crap about black on black crime, or brown on brown. Newsflash Whitey Bulger is a white guy, who mostly preyed upon white people in Boston. Convicted of 30+ counts out of 30+(I know the DA didn't get him for all but when the front numbers match I guarantee they were in the office popping bottles and twerking) when its white folks guess what: they just call it crime.

Now unexpanded I can touch on it and not break the rules. But if I go into detail yeah Jay Whit can suck a fatty and I don't mean a blunt.

The new black power is for black men thing, yeah explain to me again how you expect me to have a conversation when to start I have to be the bad guy? Who has the majority of the degrees again? Who is seen as angry and who a deadly predator who needs to be put down on sight?  This is not me saying sit down but step back,  idiocy doesn't have a gender or skin color. If you want an ally in a battle don't start off the fight by knifing them first just because they are closest and foolish enough to trust you.

This is stuff I have wanted to talk about but I know how I am. This stuff aggravates the hell out of me. People complaining not because they want to solve the problen but because they want their 15 minutes of reality tv fame.  Trolls wading into a heartfelt conversation just to see how quickly they can pour jet fuel on the fire.

Or sometimes its just people wanting to blame us all for the misdeeds of a few. They think by portraying a personal issue as a widespread epidemic it will make them feel less responsible. There was no chance they could have succeeded so its less about them having bad judgement/luck/karma/timing and more about the inevitable.  Lot less work involved if nobody could have done better.

Now in a sense this is cowardly. I could force myself to go into detail I just needed to release some of the pressure. But when every time you turn around its another tear your hair out moment. Or maybe just your day to day is feeling like 200 pounds of wet cement, joints straining, muscles screaming mentally you just say "no I don't want to obey the rules"

So dear readers I leave it to you, what topic do you want me to wrestle with just to see how it goes down.

I know I took a hiatus, but damn really a tall can of spam for a brother

I don't know what I expected bouncing off of here like that. I've thought about blogging but then again I was like pffft "ain nobody got time for that," which really isn't true I could have made time I just mentally wasn't feeling it. I was too busy putting together baby bikes, changing diapers, tickling bellies and squeezing noses. I was trying out a few new mobile games, getting lost in the joys of TASTYKAKES in the mid south(yes I did dedicate a blog to that a while ago, but now they are here).

My twitter was dead save for a few random posts here or there. My tumblr pffft aptly named, and my no hold barred blog, I locked that in a cage and didn't step in a la the four horseman of old. Pacing around the outside with my thoughts cluttered, my voice masked, and my ideas fettered. I mean I have apps for this, a laptop, phones you name it. It was more than just plain laziness it was avoidance. I didn't want to do it. I mean yes of all the things that have happened lately I had something I wanted to say, but then it was like to hell with it. Why do I have to say it, why do I have to add my voice, I'm tired give somebody else a chance.

So I said nothing, I kept quiet, I didn't even pay attention to the comment notifications(they looked spammy, hell it wasn't like I had written anything since thanksgiving) but to actually come back and see the spam. I don't know how many of you are pet owners but you know that feeling when you have been gone from the house for a few hours (whether frivolously or for a valid reason), and you just know that whiskers or Buddy has taken it upon him or herself to have at your shoes, sheets, the trash, or the couch. Yeah I don't know about other bloggers but for me, that is the feeling I get when I haven't blogged in a while and I know spam is there, you almost don't want to come back to clean it up but you know you have to go back before your home becomes a war zone.

This wasn't terrible, but it did suck, I hate redirects. I mean it's almost like you think that I'll just leave you the ability to steal traffic, eye balls, or click thrus. I don't even get that much but I want what I get, I always complain about a lack of interaction(which is of course not helped by the fact I stopped blogging. Dunno why I keep doing that lately) so you hijacking traffic really does annoy the hell out of me.

Okay well I am back now, maybe I will do a "drive by entry" about what I think of all that has happened since I last blogged. Actually I know me, maybe I should make it a few posts so that I don't have a huge run on like this is becoming.

So yeah spammers burn in hell, actual readers thanks for coming by, friends who were wondering yes I am here, yes I'm alive, I have no clue what the hell I am going to talk about this time. Or how long I will be in the mood.
