The characters I know from their powers DEFINITIVELY
Charles Xavier-Professor X. The worlds greatest TELEPATH(I'm capping and bolding that because somebody else may be stronger all around but this is Charles claim to fame), the man who runs the school, the man who began the X-men.
Erik Magnus Lehnsherr-Magneto. The master of magnetism while he and Charles are great friends he sees the only path to the safe future for mutants coming from a different path.
Henry "Hank" Mccoy-Beast. Agility of an acrobat though surpising due to his huge size(though he seems a little smaller in this movie) Hank is one of the most intelligent men on the planet, especially in the realms of biology, physics and literature. Hank speaks many languages, is known to quote great authors at the drop of a hat and is a fierce fighter alongside his comrades
Emma Frost-The White Witch. While not shown YET in the trailer(nor in X-men origins-Wolverine) Emma is also a pretty good telepath in her own right. But for now we see her SECONDARY mutation the ability to become living diamond.
Sean Cassidy-Banshee. Banshee releases a sonic scream that can stun, incapacitate or physically harm his opponent. He can also use his ability to emit said scream to fly up to the speed of sound. He was an on again off again X-man and should be recognizable to most X-fans
Raven Darkholme-Mystique. The mutant shapeshifter mother of Kurt Wagner, "foster" mother of Rogue Mystique is known for espionage and deception. She is often seen as a companion of Magneto and normally in the X-world if somebody isn't acting how you expect expect her blue hide to shift in sooner or later.

Alex Summers-Havok. CONTINUITY yes I am going to have an issue with this movie because not only do they have Emma frost in it after you saw her and Scott Summers together as Captives in X-men Origins:Wolverine as young children and them running out to a BALD Charles Xavier(looked like a CGI'ed version of a young Patrick Stewart which I'm cool with) but now you have Scott's younger brother Alex in the first class movie. I'm still going to see it but err umm whats up with all these blatant continuity issues.
Sebastian Shaw-The Black King. Sebastian is a member of the Hellfire club a long time X-men enemy Shaw has the ability to absorb kinetic energy and turn it into superhuman strength.
to the trailer: Charles and Eric meet up for the first time and decide to gather together a team of young mutants and discover how to properly use their new abilities. It is the time of the cuban missile crisis though and Charles sees this as a time for mutants to introduce themselves to the world as a force for good. Unfortunately Eric having seen at a young age the extreme evil that can be humanity(Eric is a former German Jew during the time of the Nazi's his powers first manifested while at a concentration camp) feels less along the lines of ally and more along the lines of conqueror ruler. Can these two dear friends reconcile this strong difference of opinion(yeah yeah to fans of the comic, movies, cartoon series et al we know this answer but hey it's a "prequel")
Green Lantern
Test pilot Hal Jordan is sitting in a field one day contemplating what is not exactly the best day in his life. In the sky he sees a green flash and runs towards it inside a space ship he sees an alien who hands him a ring. The alien Abin Sur is a Geen Lantern a member of a Universal Police force each of them assigned a quadrant of the Universe. Some great evil is approaching and as is the custom Abin's ring has chosen his successor Hal the first human Green Lantern. The ring makes thought a reality and it is up to Hal to overcome his fears and save the planet earth as well as the universe. And to begin his new duty Hal must speak the oath

Green Lantern is a DC comics Character and their first MOVIE foray into something non Kryptonian or nocturnal. For DC's sake many are hoping that this movie does well so that we can see other great Iconic Dc characters on the screen. Now to be fair as a marvellite I may not EXACTLY be a big DC fan for them stealing lead Actor Ryan Deadpool Reynolds from the role he was born to play, but Ryan says he still wants to play Deadpool so I will play nice. You will see many of the DC universes favorite non Human green lanterns in this movie Kilowog, Tomar-Re, and Sinestro. Now for those who have read the comics, are currently reading the comics or have seen Justice League or Justice League unlimited no they aren't coming up with something new. Hal Jordan is the first Green Lantern Corps human lantern(Alan Scott was the Golden Age Green Lantern but his Ring was magical and he was not a member of the Corps) is the original Super Friends Green Lantern and has been brought back recently from other adventures. This is a more somber trailer than the first one that was leaked and it shows a lot more about the corp than the previous one which was more about Hal Jordan seemingly fraidy cat. This movie is on my list of "Must See's" for the summer
Super 8
I was gonna do a lame joke about this being a movie about some reasonably priced hotel chains but naaah. Super 8 is the story of some young children who seem to have a love for monster make up and a Super 8 mm film camera. On one of their evening super indie film filming sessions a pick up truck skids onto the train tracks and causes the train to derail. The kids run knocking over their camera and the camera records SOMETHING. What you don't know but the armed forces come in soon to try and reclaim whatever it is. Strange things have been happening around the town and when the kids go back and develop their film what is it they saw on that Super 8 reel?
This movie has HEAVY pedigree behind it with Abrams and Spielberg so I will probably watch it just because its them (I dare you to name me a bad Spielberg movie, come on I'll wait. Exactly) Super 8 some sci fi ride brought to you by Star Trek and Indiana Jones, ET, Close you know what I don't have time to list all of Spielberg's successful Sci Fi franchises.
Captain America
It is World War II the US army is enlisting every able bodied young man to fight the war against the Nazi's, the problem is Steve Rogers is not an able bodied young man. He's short, he's lame but he has a heart as big as New York city(where he grew up). After his 5th unsuccessful attempt to enlist he is offered the chance to enter a program by a scientist working with the US army. The Super Soldier program, if chosen he will be the greatest soldier the world has ever seen. He will be a symbol for hope, a beacon for those on the battlefield. When injected Steve grows taller, he is in peak physical condition, his reflexes are unmatched. He will be set against the worst of what Hitler has to offer.
I could go into DEEP detail about Captain America, like any other American kid I know that uniform and shield all too well. Cap is the only mortal who Thor will listen to, the only government official Tony Stark will let interrupt him, he's the man that Spiderman won't quip at, he's the guy wolverine would salute. The full title of the movie is Captain America:The First Avenger.

I find it ironic that you got 3 super hero movies (2 of them Marvel what a coincidence) in front of Thor but hey it's time for the big guns to come out time for the studies to wow your socks off and stake their claims on your wallet
